I prefer using clean socks or underwear, but I wouldn't refrain from using dirty ones when I'm feeling particularly sadistic. Who knows, maybe the sub has done something to deserve it. That said, I wouldn't do it if they're too grossed out by it.

I love both, but I'd say the extra effort you put into some solid ropework really pays off. Good ropework shows passion and commitment, especially when the rigger uses more rope than is technically necessary. It kinda gives away how much they're into it, without it being stated explicitly.

Come to think of it, I guess it's pretty weird that I've pretty much always fantasized about the same things. Same types of gags. Same ropework. I think of new scenarios and things to try regularly, but it often comes down to the same few things I enjoy so much. I'm sure it's the same for many other...

Why not both? You could apply a few cheek-to-cheek strips of duct tape over the ball gagged mouth. Really like the look of this, personally... Especially with microfoam tape!
