Not just for self bondage, but I believe a couple drinks to loosen up before bondage play can be ok. Anything more than that though, there is potential for many things to go wrong and should be avoided.

I can’t say I’d prefer it over rope, but I would use bondage-like clothing to tie up a woman if she wanted me to or if there was nothing else available. Stuff like panty hose, scarves, or bathrobe belts.

In the last couple years I have become slightly more open to talking about bondage with people, so I’d most likely call them out and see where it goes.
