Vixen lies helpless

True sisterly love

I have tried many types of writing but had never attempted a haiku before. The rules are simple, line one is five syllables, line two seven and line three five again.

Line 2 only appears to be 6 syllables. Interesting idea nonetheless.

Hum...I think you're wrong, steak-boi.
I clearly see seven syllables in the second line.

Bound/and/ga/gged/on/the/bed

bondagefreak That's the first time I've seen anyone say "gagged" as [ga/gged]. I've always pronounced it as [gagd], and a couple of "Syllable Counters" I've quickly Googled have agreed with me.

If that's what Mr. Nelson was planning, then I'll let it slide... but only once, and only because he's a fellow Canadian. :P

Steak in a Tree Fair enough. Being Canadians, this is your mother tongue, so I'll defer to your judgements when it comes to english language matters.

However, I need to point out that your own language tools are in strong disagreement with each other.
After doing a Bing search for english syllable counters and visiting the first four counters, I get "gagged" (1 syllable) twice, and "gagged" (2 syllables) twice.

That is... certainly interesting. The English language in general is a bit of a mess in spots, so I'm not super surprised at the discrepancy, heh.

Sounds like it's time for a poll - who says "gagged" with one syllable, and who says it with two? :P

I've always said it with one syllable (in fact, I've never heard it with two).

I've never heard gagged pronounced as two syllables, but all's fair in love and poetry.

My own research shows supporters of both one syllable and two syllables for the word gagged. I originally considered it two. For those that agree with the one position I have made a slight edit:

Vixen lies helpless
Bound and gagged on her own bed
True sisterly love

For those that may be puzzled by the last line let me just say that Vixen enjoys a rather interesting relationship with her sister Maylor and I'll leave it at that.
