Stories of Tie Up Games

Does anyone else find it annoying how a lot of bondage and tie-up sites are marketed as "sexy" etc? Whenever I search for stuff, its always marketed for sex purposes and references to partners. Are there any places what just have clean tie-up material shops without those kind of references and images of naked women etc.

To my knowledge, no. I know I for one associate bondage with sexuality, as do the majority of people who are into it. It is a real shame for people whose interest is non-sexual, but I suppose the best you can do is just try to ignore the advertising and buy what you want for the reason you want it. That being said though, it's not impossible that such shops exist.

Perhaps a big diy or hardware shop might be an idea if its supplies you are after? Some rope and duct tape wont notice too obviously if you pick up other things as well?

Pretty much this.

The only "Non-sexual bondage shop" that I can think of is a hardware store.

Most good equipment should be sourced individually online. For instance, the best rope is really rope that you have purchased from a quality rope supplier that has been treated by you or others specifically for bondage. I have never seen a very good selection in adult stores (sex shops). I really only go browse sex shops to see what they have to offer, but really the only worthwhile stuff I ever see is overpriced and middling quality at best. The best fabrics for gags come from fabric stores and the best rope comes from rope suppliers.

What length is best? Two pieces at least would be needed minimum, one for ankles and one for wrists.

Yeah, sex stuff is simply where a huge chunk of the market for bondage supplies is.

I do agree that a lot of the stuff you find at mainstream sex shops isn't very good. Their website equivalents are better, but still limited.

10mm would be preferable, but 8mm is acceptable as well.

To each their own, but the real bonus of hemp or jute over cotton is that it will not knot up so tightly that you cannot untangle it like cotton tends to do. I have had to cut cotton rope but never jute or hemp.

Rope length: start with 4 pieces 10ft (3m) long, 4 pieces 15ft (5m) long and maybe 2-4 pieces 30ft (10m) long.
8mm thickness is good for holding knots without making them impossible to undo after being pulled tight.

I also like a collection of bandannas and cotton and "silk" scarves.

The main bondage gear that is only available from adult stores are handcuffs, leather restraints specialist gags etc - which are "adult" rather than TUG.

[mention]McMurdoPI[/mention] Mmm...not really. I've been over all your photos on here and I've been over all your photos on DA and it's glaringly obvious that the rope you're using is far from being standard 8-10mm bondage rope. You seem to be using thin para-rope (3.5-4mm).

You use much thinner rope, rope that digs uncomfortably in skin and can stop blood flow if done too tight.

When you get yourself some 10mm (8mm is a minimum) you'll realise that it doesn't dig into skin, it doesn't stop blood flow if done tight and it doesn't knot up or get tangled like the thin cotton/parachute rope you've been using.

I can also assure you that 10mm rope will be substantially comfier for long term bondage than the thin ropes that currently appear in all your photos. That's what all bondage studios use for photoshoots and that's what most people into ropework will use to truss someone else up. No loss of bloodflow, no pinching or digging into skin, no marks and no cement-like knots. Hassle-free, 100x easier to coil up and organise neatly and way, way, WAY more comfortable for the victim.

I do not use paracord, and as a PSA to those who do not know, do not use paracord for bondage, it slips like other nylon material and that can be very dangerous. I use 6mm and 8mm hemo and jute. 10 sounds interesting but I really do not know if I would use it for wrists or ankles unless comfort was being emphasized over effectiveness.
