Nana to Kaoru

I am not sure which section this belongs to, this is a manga - which can qualify as artwork (may be?), but also has an associated anime and a live action adaptation.

I was searching for non-porn BDSM anime the other day and found this. I'd guess what qualifies as porn can be a bit subjective, for me this wasn't. Nana to Kaoru is primarily S&M but does contain elements of bondage. I found myself hooked to the live action adaptation, thoroughly enjoyed it, made me cry lol, and so found it worth sharing. On the other hand, the reviews suggest it is cringy, and yes the male protagonist could have been depicted as less of a pervert, but I enjoyed the aspects they were getting at The reviews suggest manga is much better in that it sketches out the characters better, so YMMV!

I've read through the Manga a few times. I think it's decent, bondage is a big part of the story but I would say it's more S&M focused. There are large sections of it devoted to how the characters are feeling and their internal struggle with their emotions about each other and the events occurring. The ending is very weak, I don't think it was necessary and seems too unbelievable whereas the earlier parts of the series are more realistic in my opinion.
