Not a loved one but complete stranger...

I was walking in late September with handcuffed hands in front of me through Ottawa along parliament road, when a car stopped next to me and asked for directions. Not sure 100% they saw the cuffs, but I had to bend down to see the young female driver and what looked like her mother in the passenger seat. Felt a little silly at that point, but I answered their question and they went on their way.

Didn't deter me from doing it again

A couple years ago I was at my then boyfriend's place, in his room, and he was holding my wrists together over my head while we were kissing, and his dad walked in on us.

I wasn't tied, but my bf was holding my wrists pretty tight, and it was obvious his dad saw. He kinda stared, and he had to see that I was totally ok with being held like that. Anyway, he closed the door, and nothing was ever said about it.

We split up not very long after, though not over that. Ironically, he never did actually tie me up.

Yes. One of the guys I used to tie up a lot, for a special "thank you" for being a good sub, I let him tie me. His roommate and a friend walked in just as I was let loose, rope still clearly visible.
It was nerve wracking, haha. But my buddy just said "we were just practicing some ties." As though that makes it less weird. His roommate was really cool about it though, and said "as long as no one is getting hurt, that's fine."
He probably woulda been fun to tie up too...

My niece brought her two boys over and they were running wild.

As I was making us all a cup of tea, he younest who was about 6 at the time came in and whispered to me "uncle jason are you a secret policeman."

"No, why do you ask?"

"Why do you have handcuffs like the police use in your room?"

"Ok buddy, you got me. I am a secret policeman, but you can't tell anyone."

He looked very serious for a monent before he said "it's ok, your secret is safe with me."

We broke up as he was seeing someone else behind my back.
