Stories of Tie Up Games

Promotional banners and signatures are a great way to spread the word about a new tale you might've started, especially on a forum with as much content as this one.

They can be used to attract curious readers and can be both intriguing and spoiler-free at the same time.
A definite plus for the authors using them!


I'm open to taking requests from authors who would like to have a promo banner, either as a signature or as a story cover.

If you're interested, you'll need to point me towards the story you wanna have a banner for.
Then we can try to come up with something that would work out as a promo banner for said story.

I won't do anything complex.
These are SIMPLE banners, only!

In the spirit of giving back to those who give, I'll only take requests from authors who've cumulated more than 50 posts, and will prioritize those who are in the habit of posting comments on other stories besides their own.

Banners would be 100% more effective at advertisement if they also served as links to the story they're promoting. That way, they not only advertise a story, but they also bring it just one click away for the reader.

I wish more authors would work a weblink into their banner photos. Near as I can tell, I'm the only one who's doing that.

Hello, my friend. I've actually thought about doing so many times.
The frustrating part for me is that when using maxed size banners (865 pixels long) they get tossed to the left by that ugly hyperlink symbol.
Even adding "Align Text = Center" does nothing to resolve it or make it more aesthetically acceptable.

In the case of your banner, it works great 'cause yous appears to be on the shorter (-700 pixel) end.


Longer banners automatically get off-centred because the hyperlink symbol gets calculated as part of the image.
A very minor thing, but one that I've found too off-putting to use.

It WOULD help a great deal though, especially considering the number of readers who are clueless in the ways of correctly navigating the board.
Unfortunately, I've used up all my "Admin Query Cards" recently and need to wait a bit before pestering them with more suggestions. I would not mind seeing those hyperlink symbols disappear though.

I just realised that was the extension that made URL links reveal where (which threads) they linked to.
That was a rather good feature. I don't know if this was such a good trade-off. Shoot!

So should it be reinstated or what?

Maybe instead of linking the banner itself, provide a link below the banner like this:

Story: <url>

Doesn't change anything for me either way.
Just saying that if some members ask you if you could reinstate the extension, don't hold back on my account.

I didn't expect you to act out on it + I didn't realise the extension showing the URL logo was the same as the one that made the URL links readable.

That's how I've always done it.
Link to library or story link right above the banner.

Will happily go back to that if anyone decides to ask you about reinstating the extension.
Either way, this isn't a major (or even minor) issue.

We're just lucky to have a site and an Admin team that regularly cares for it.
Quite a contrast from the last forum!
