I think this is a fun idea, but I'm not 100% sure that this is the right section to post it in. On the other hand, I'm not quite sure were else you would post it. The true story bit certainly does belong here. I'm so confused.

If you want to push the envelope a bit, you can pull off 3-4 feet of duct tape, then stick one end to a door knob, or other fixed object around waist high. Hobble (don't tie) your ankles, gag yourself, then take the other end of the duct tape, attach it to one of your hands, cross your hands behind you, and back up to the door while rotating your hands. When you reach the door, you will have nicely tape tied yourself.
But tape ties can be tricky, so make sure you have an "out."
