Site Down/Donation Campaign 2025


Hello everyone,

I apologize for the extended downtime of the website. Around the 20th of December, I got a notice from the hosting provider that hosting services were suspended due to "excessive strain on the system" caused by our website, apparently. I have been on holiday travel up until this past weekend, so I couldn't deal with it until now. I contacted the host and was able to get the website back going....for a fee (they added a firewall and "security" plan for an extra 25.00 a month) as well as information on what could be causing the problem. I followed their advice and applied optimizations. I also updated the forum software to the latest edition to hopefully further fix any issues with that.

Our hosting fees are now at roughly 100 dollars a month, which is starting to put a strain on my budget. For this reason, I am requesting any help with paying for hosting. To put it in perspective, here are the following fees and services that need to be paid for:
  • Basic Hosting Fee: $73.80 Monthly
  • New Security Fee: $26.74 Monthly
  • SSL Renewal (for secure connections to the website): $90.94 Yearly
  • Domain Renewal (to keep the tugstories.com name): $21.99 Yearly
