Not sure I want to be in their position.

The story is on more familiar terrain (at least for me), having been to Munich several times (with an office in Grassbrun). Good to see the dark lady being active and resourceful. She might need all her skills for the next task.

A very enjoyable read. Gut gemacht!
Thanks for reading. Feel free to comment.

One of the pawns in the game changes sides, it seems. Her intentions, her honour, are vague, and I am unsure what she would want of our hero. Offer her services? Have a (friendly) rematch? Join them? Submit herself willingly to their bo dage to suffer as she should have? This story can go in sk many directions.

Me neither slackywacky :) There will be hell to pay that much is sure, as we will see soon .... Failure has Consequences.

Beaumains:

Indeed there are many roads to follow :) You are right, The Dark Lady is a dubious character to say the least - and it will be interessting to see, which road she will take.

In this Chapter we learn that Failure has Consequences at the Adlernest - serving von Winterfeldt is not easy ....

The Entrance Gates of the Adlernest, around 1400 Hours:

Brunhild glanced at Freya as they approached the Entrance Gates of the secluded Valley, where the Adlernest lay. A high stonewall across the Valley Ground with an imposing Gate in the fashion of Versailles. No guards could be seen. But anyone trying to climb Gate or wall would be in for an ugly surprise as they knew. Nearing the Adlernest without being detected was nearly impossible.

Freya´s face reflected her own emotions: She was relieved on one hand, because the long torturous drive would be soon over, and they would get rid of that dammed Vibrators and Chastity-Belts - hopefully. The Vibrators had nearly driven her mad. Every step had been pure torture. She feared the return, because they had to face the consequences of their failure now.

Freya halted the SUV before the Gates. The large leaves swung wide open. Obviously they were expected. They passed the Gate and the leaves swung shut behind them. They followed the long straight Alley Road, which lead to the Adlernest. The drive continued in silence than the view opened wide and Brunhild and Freya stared at the imposing sight before them. Even if she was used to the view, it never failed to impress her:

Before them over roughly 500 Meters width they neared a baroque Palace which looked like a larger Copy of Schloss Oberschleissheim at Munich, as it would have looked had it been finished, with its four wings completed, not only the main building as the original.

Freya stopped the SUV, before the large entrance doors in the centre of the Corps de Logis. Freya and Brunhild pulled themselves together, opened the doors and walked to the large wooden doors, which swung wide open. In the Entrance Hall two guards awaited them with stern unreadable expressions.

“Follow us! “You are expected.” They ordered.

The Adlernest, Sophie´s Quarters the same time:

Sophie had watched the arrivals from her windows. She recognized the two Valkyries as Brunhild and Freya two of the Women who had kidnapped her. She thought it strange, that nobody had awaited them.

It was around 30 Minutes later Sophie lay on her bed, shoes off, engrossed into Thomas Mann´s Dr. Faustus, when suddenly the well know female voice rang through the room, sterner and colder than usual:

“Sophie, there is a change of schedule: You are hereby requested and required to assume the position immediately.”

Sophie was disturbed. "What did that mean? She had followed every order to the letter without hesitation." A shudder of cold crept across her shoulders she had just gotten used to regard her captivity as some sort of “holiday”.

Quickly she got up, put her shoes on and stood with her back to the Window. In the same moment the Door opened. Susanne von Stülpnagel accompanied by six Valkyries entered, Susanne von Stülpnagel´s normally kind face, was cold and hard:

“Sophie, something has come up and your schedule has been altered.” Sophie just stared at her. “You have to spend the time from now on till tomorrow in full restraints. Tomorrow morning you are required to attend a roll call in formal attire." Sophie felt numb and just stared at the Susanne von Stülpnagel:

“Think of it as a vacation, right?” she smiled bitterly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Von Stülpnagel had at least the decency to break eye contact first.

Sophie sighed and began to disrobe. 20 Minutes later she lay in her Cocoons on her bed. She stared at the ceiling. And in that moment, something broke inside her.

All what had happened in the 72 Hours washed over her again with the force of a Tsunami. Tears streamed down her cheeks, Sobs shook her body she couldn't just hold herself together anymore.

Suddenly the face of Susanne von Stülpnagel appeared in her field of vision. Two soft hands touched her cheeks and she had to look von Stülpnagel in the eyes. “Shhh Sophie, I know that this must be hard for you. You have to be strong tomorrow morning and I will make it up to you, I promise, we will have dinner tomorrow evening and then we will talk about everything.” Sophie stared just at her through a curtain of tears. Her sobs slowly receding, “you will go to sleep now, relax and tomorrow we will talk.”

The now all too familiar chloroform saturated cloth was pressed on her face. She had no power to resist anymore, so Sophie just inhaled and fell soon into the all-encompassing darkness.

Susanne von Stülpnagel looked down on the sleeping Sophie. She stroke softly above her cheek. “Poor baby, I'm sorry.” she spoke softly. She turned at the guards. “I want her to be taken special care of. Treat her kindly and respectfully tomorrow.” she ordered the Leader of the Guard Detail. “You are personally responsible for her, understood?”

“Yes, Frau von Stülpnagel replied the Captain of the Guard and stood to attention. “It will be done as you ordered.”

The next morning, Adlernest, Sophie´s Quarters around 0545 hours.

Sophie awoke from a fitful sleep. Many hours this night, sleep had evaded her she had just stared at the ceiling then fallen asleep only to wake up one or two hours later. She had strained against the cocoons, banged her head at the soft surface in frustration.

That dammed voice again thought Sophie. If she had not been gagged, she would have told her to screw herself.

“Sophie, good morning!” said the Voice cheerily. “You will be released out of your bags shortly. When you have done your morning exercise and had breakfast you will prepare for the Ceremony. You will be provided with the appropriate clothing. The Maids will assist you to adjust. You are advised to dress with care. That will be all.”

“All” Sophie thought bitterly: “Dressing with care.” As if she had a choice.

Adlernest Sophie´s Quarters at 0830:

Sophie sat on the Couch and waited. She was on edge. Her guard detail had showed more than the professional courtesy of the days before. She looked at her watch. It was time; she went to window and waited. The same moment the door opened and two Maids entered accompanied by two Valkyries. Some trolleys were moved into the room.

One of the two Maids addressed Sophie: "I'm Gunhild and this is Gaia. We are her to make you presentable for the ceremony at 1000 hours."

One hour later Sophie looked at herself in the large mirror: Her hair had been put into a tight Chignon. She wore a high collared white blouse, a jacket of anthracite, at her feet she wore high black Platform heels, the skirt reached down to her Ankles. Sophie discovered that only small steps were possible. As usual the clothes fitted her perfectly.

“You look beautiful Frau Reichenbach!” Gunhild complimented her. And Sophie had to admit that she was right. 10 Minutes later the usual Detail of Valkyries made their entrance. But this time they wore some kind of Dress Uniform, which reminded Sophie very much of pictures of Party Rallies and Ceremonies of the Third Reich. If she was remembered correctly the Uniforms of the SS looked very similar.

Without thinking Sophie stretched her Arms out front. When she was prepared, she discovered that this time her guards forgone the Blindfold and the Ear Buds. The leader of the Detail, sensing her curiosity, told her:

“Frau von Stülpnagel has ordered that you are not to be blindfolded. Consider this as a privilege." Sophie nodded. Two of her guards walked before her, the other two took her gently by her arms and led her out of her quarters. And for the first time Sophie could see more than her Suite and the Gym:

Her Heels clicked loudly on the marble floor. They walked in Silence nearly 100 Meters before they entered the stairwell. Walking down the marble stairs on her high heels was difficult but with the aid of her handlers Sophie managed it. When they passed the monumental entrance gate, Sophie had to blink to adjust her dark-adapted eyes, to the bright sunlight.

In front of her was some sort of Parade Ground. In the midst a large podium had been erected. Pictures of the French Revolution shot through Sophie´s mind. On the left and of the right of the Podium three Rows deep the Valkyries and any Staff had been assembled.

The Valkyries clad in the same Dress Uniform her Handlers wore, which reminded Sophie again at the Uniforms of the SS. In the Front of the Podium stood a group of individuals which Sophie pegged as the Executive Staff of the Organization.

Beside them she and her Handlers came to a halt. The Valkyries which had guided removed their hands from Sophie´s upper arms. The other two took position behind her.

The silence which hung over the crowd was heavy with expectation. Sophie took a closer look at the podium. On it two large rectangular frames were erected. She could see that four manacles were fastened in each corner. Anybody who would be tied there would stand there in the shape of a St. Andreas Cross.

Sophie swayed lightly on her High Heels. Time passed, impossible to tell how much. Then the Main Gate opened and a drum roll filled the air.

In a slow March a group of Persons neared the Podium. At the Head Susanne von Stülpnagel walked in the goose step used by the Wehrmacht. Von Stülpnagel wore the Black Uniform of the SS. Instead of the riding Trousers she wore a Black Skirt and High Heeled Boots.

Sophie couldn't turn away her sights from the procession. Behind her two hooded Persons, with their hands behind her back were led. They reached the Podium marched up and came to a halt.

Von Stülpnagel stood on the left side while the hooded figures stood in the middle, framed from their Guards. The Drum Roll stopped.

“Comrades!” The clear Voice of Susanne von Stülpnagel resonated in the silence: “We all strive for a higher goal! We all do our Service with utmost dedication! Success earns Glory! Failure earns Punishment! Today we have come together to witness the Punishment of two Comrades who failed in comradeship, who failed in their duty to the cause!”

The hoods of the delinquents were removed, and Sophie would have screamed in shock had she not been gagged so tightly: The two women were Brunhild and Freya, their heads hung low. Both were gagged with cruelly tight Ball Gags.

“Valkyrie-Commander Brunhild and Lieutenant Freya you have not only failed in achieving your goals, but you got ambushed and overpowered by our enemy! You all know, that failure is not tolerated! As leaders of your fellow Comrades you have to lead by example! Lead now in accepting your Punishment!" She made a gesture: Brunhild and Freya were stripped of their uniform shirts and their Bra´s, bare breasted they stood on the Podium.

“Proceed!”

The Guards tied Brunhild and Freya to the two Frames. Sophie was shocked. Beside each Culprit an Officer stood which held a cat o'nine tails.

“Each of the two Delinquents will receive 36 lashes as Punishment. Let the punishment commence!" Von Stülpnagel rang loud and clear through the deafening Silence.

An Officer commanded: “One!”

The cracks, as the tips of the whips broke the sound barrier, was eclipsed by the sound of the tips striking naked flesh of the two Transgressors. Their muffled screams echoed around the parade ground.

The sound of torn flesh made Sophie nauseous. She wanted to turn away. But her handlers grip was firm. Small Sobs escaped Sophie´s gagged Mouth.

Bloody welts criss-crossed soon the naked backs of Brunhild and Freya. Once the last lash was delivered, no sound escaped their lips. They hung limp and barely conscious now, only held upright by their restraints.

And then it was over.

The Officer who had counted the lashes stood to attention before Susanne von Stülpnagel, "Punishment executed!"

Susanne von Stülpnagel nodded curtly. “Release the Delinquents and put them in the Infirmary.” Brunhild and Freya more or less hanged between their handlers, as they were carried down the Podium and led away.

Susanne von Stülpnagel addressed the crowd, "Return to your Posts!"

Sophie was too shocked to register that her handlers led her back to the Palace Gate. She stumbled ahead in a trance like state. When they reached the doors of her Quarters the two Maids who had helped her dressing for the Ceremony awaited them.

They opened the Door to her Quarters. Gunhild turned to her Guards. “I think we do not need you anymore!” One of the Guards seemed on the verge of speaking, Gunhild brushed her off, “Look at the poor thing, she is totally spent. Sophie you will not make trouble for us, will you?”

Sophie just shook her head weakly. Gunhild stared the Guard down: "See. We call you if we need you.”

When they were alone, the two Maidens led Sophie to a chair where she sat down assisted by her caretakers.

Gunhild knelt down at her feet and took the high heels off her feet. Gently the two Maids disrobed Sophie helped her into her pyjamas and put her into her bed.

Gunhild pulled the soft sheets above her. “Please call us, if you need anything will you, my dear? We will look after you later, ok?” Sophie was unresponsive still shocked to the core by the proceedings at the roll call. She curled together like an embryo and fell into an uneasy sleep.

Susanne von Stülpnagel had watched the Scene in her Office and felt a twinge of regret when she watched the impassive Sophie. "Had it been wrong to make her watch the Punishment of Brunhild and Freya? If I have miscalculated, my master will be most displeased." She would learn this evening.

When Sophie awoke three hours later from a deep sleep it took her a while until her head cleared and her memories came flooding back of what had happening in the morning. The Punishment of Brunhild and Freya, those women had abducted her but treated her with respect. Nobody deserved a treatment like this.

The female Voice broke her out of her Reverie: “Your lunch will be served in 20 Minutes. Take the Position in 18 Minutes” It took Sophie all strength she could muster to leave the bed and walking to the Window. She moved like an elderly person.

The Door opened: Gunhild and Gaia rolled a Trolley in. “I'm not hungry” Sophie muttered “Of course you are my dear!” Gunhild said warmly. “You have had nothing to eat since breakfast. You must take a little to conserve your strength.”

Gunhild spooned Sophie some hot soup. Surprisingly enough Sophie felt better when she had digested the soup. “See, that wasn't so difficult.” Gunhild cooed. “We will leave you now and will return at 1830 and help you to bet at your finest for the Dinner with Frau von Stülpnagel at 2000."

Sophie sighed: “I guess, this is an invitation I cannot decline …”

“Do not look so glum Sophie”, Gunhild smiled, “just enjoy it, while it lasts.”

Sophie could not help but smile; she liked the unquenchable enthusiasm of the bubbly Maid, “I'll try, Gunhild” and smiled at her. When the Maids had left Sophie threw herself on the bed and stared at the ceiling deep in thought.

How should she play this? Acting like a spoiled child or display strength? She had been shocked by the horrific punishment of Brunhild und Freya, but she had survived the torment by her father in law, she would not break now, she swore to herself, and if anybody had been present, he would have seen a subtle change in Sophie´s body language.

1830 Hours:

When the Voice had reminded her to take the position, Sophie stood already at the window. The Door swung open and Gunhild and Gaia entered´, Gunhild mustered Sophie and liked obviously what she saw: “You look much better Sophie!”

“I´m feeling much better, Gunhild, thank you. The soup and your kindness helped very much” she smiled at Gunhild and Gaia.

Then both maids beamed at her: “Let us get started!”

1930 Hours:

Gunhild stood a few steps back and gave Sophie an appraising look: “You look simply radiant, Sophie!” Sophie could not help herself but return the smile, the enthusiasm of the young woman, was contagious.

She took a look at herself in the mirror. Her dark hair arranged artfully atop on her head. The Collier which rested on her breast, the long black evening gown, with high heeled platform sandals.

A knock at the door, the Guard entered: “Sophie we are here to escort you to the Quarters of Frau von Stülpnagel”, the leader intoned.

“Sophie presented her wrists to her guards. “If you promise to behave we have the discretion to forego any bonds.”

Sophie nodded: “I will”

“Then let us go.” They walked along the large empty corridors. Sophie in the Middle, two Guards in front of her, two Guards behind her, the leader in front.

Mmm, too many things, too many feelings.

First, I love to see the Dark Lady on top. She needed to beat a couple of strong rivals to keep her credibility and she did! I still hope she can have her way with the main trio, even if it would be consensual or as a last goodbye. One can only hope.

On the other hand, it's a cruel chapter. Sophie finally sinks into the idea of being a prisoner there. Also, the punishment for the valkyries were more harsh than necessary. Will they keep working for the bad guy? Or will they also switch sides?

Interesting chapter, we keep getting to see Sophie in her prison and we also get to see what happens to the valkyries if they don't succeed in their job which apparently can get pretty harsh. I still keep wondering what will be of Sophie because she surely wont escape by herself but i wonder who could help her and how.

Sophie is really tortured there, and it should show her that her father-in-law was not alone in his cruelties. All trust Susanne had build that it was not too bad, would be gone by by now. A true tragedy, and I hope she is able to find her inner strength to survive and overcome her abuse.

Oh, how I'd love to see Ms von Stülpnagel get taken down a peg... or twenty. Earlier, I did wonder if she was just so self-absorbed that she didn't see what a bitch she was with her 'gracious host in difficult circumstances' act. Looks like I was being too charitable. To paraphrase a song from a few years ago, she's a bitch and she knows it.

A very painful chapter (for some). Can't imagine being flogged that hard.
Will Sophie regain her (real) freedom?

Yep, Susanne is the type who is loyal to the core, she does not question the orders she gets. On top of that she is highly capable and intelligent - and has a crush on her Boss. Von Stülpnagel is the kind of Person that justifies his/ hers actions that way: "I just followed Orders."

What is in the Cards for von Stülpnagel though remains to be seen though ...

Indeed slackywacky - and I have to admit, that I find it difficult to write such scenes, but I wanted to draw a most drastic Pictures what Service for von Winterfeldt can mean, a look behind the cultivated Facade.
Sophie is really tortured there, and it should show her that her father-in-law was not alone in his cruelties. All trust Susanne had build that it was not too bad, would be gone by by now. A true tragedy, and I hope she is able to find her inner strength to survive and overcome her abuse.
Beaumains To make Sophie watch was an act of cruelty, and Sophie knows now, that this polished facade is all but an act. But trust me, Sophie is strong and she will not be broken - but the road will be a long one, she will have to adjust, bide her time - that is the only thing she can do at the moment. This is the ultimate test of her resilience.

On the other hand, it's a cruel chapter. Sophie finally sinks into the idea of being a prisoner there. Also, the punishment for the valkyries were more harsh than necessary. Will they keep working for the bad guy? Or will they also switch sides?
Absolutely, this was a cruel chapter Mineira1986 - von Stülpnagel did what many War Criminals in the Third Reich did to justify their actions: She tells herself, that she did what her Boss would have wanted her to do - rather convinient, don´t you think? :)

Chapter IV:

Hamburg: Offices of Art. Inc. around 1000 same morning:

Sybille Schmitt, Christine von der Marwitz´ Secretary and uncrowned Queen of all things IT –and Research related worked at her spacious desk with its three large flat screens and sifted through the Data Christine and Company had acquired at Sylt, Heidelberg and Nuremberg.

Image
Crissy Marie as Sybille Schmitt

Her phone signalled an incoming call, from Munich, Number unknown. “Good day, this is Art. Inc., Sybille Schmitt speaking, how can I help you? She asked in her professional voice.

She listened to the Caller. “No”, “Frau von der Marwitz is not at her Office.” “You have to speak to her?” “Okay, Sir” “Would you be so kind to tell me in what matter please?” A short reply and Sybille raised her Eye Brows.

“Please hold the Line Sir. I´ll patch you through at once.”

Munich: Safe House at the Hubertusbrunnen, same time:

The three friends sat around the table in the dining room filing through reports and data banks. The ringing tone of Christine´s Phone, the first movement of Beethoven´s 5th Symphony disturbed them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMHVVeZmm4I

Christine looked at the Screen: “Sybille” she whispered to Anna and Kate, “must be important” – if she calls me here.” “Yes Sybille?” “What´s up?” She listened for a moment, her expression changed to rapt attention: “Patch him through”, she replied.

“Hello, this is Christine von Marwitz speaking”, “to whom do I owe the pleasure?” She listened again, “yes, they are present”, “may I put you on Speaker phone?” “Okay, they can hear you now.”

“Good Day Grand Duchesse Romanova, good day Captain Beckett!” the Caller addressed them in a deep, slow voice dark from too much Single Malt, slightly raspy, Kate guessed.

“Good day to you too Sir”, the two replied in unison.

Christine interrupted: “Herr von Instetten, you wanted to talk to me, to us personally?” “May you tell me why?”

A mirthless chuckle at the other end “Frau von der Marwitz, you already have guessed that, I´m certain: Only the late Hermann Reichenbach could have told you my real name.”

“Then let us talk”, Christine offered.

“Not on the phone, I want to talk to you personally, get to know you, you and your friends.” The anxiety of the man was palpable.

“Where and when?” Christine asked.

“Nymphenburg, Amalienburg, 1500 Hours.”

“Fine and how do we recognize you?”

“I will recognize you, that´ll be all.”

The man hanged up abruptly.

Christine, Anna and Kate looked at each other. Anna spoke first: “Kate what do you make of the call?” The detective pondered the question for a moment: “The caller was anxious, nervous – had had too much Single Malt in the past – by the Sound of it.”

“Educated, cultivated.” Anna added. “Christine, what did he want?”

“He wanted to talk to us.” “Normally Sybille does not patch calls through without a good reason.” “She is my personal firewall” she grinned. Sybille has a Spider Sense: When she thinks that the Caller is genuine than he is genuine. I trust her.”

Kate shrugged: “And how do we play it? You know that “Amalienburg” he talked about?”

“Yes, the Pianist replied. “The Amalienburg is one of the small Park Palaces at Nymphenburg Palace.”

“A good meeting Place for him: He will see us long before we see him.” Kate replied.

“Okay then”, Anna added: “Let us prepare.”

Munich: Odeonsplatz Schumanns Bar am Hofgarten 1000 Hours

The Dark Lady sat outside Schumann´s Bar at the Odeon´s Platz, a hideous expensive but very fine Late Macchiato before her, and scanned a list of addresses a contact of hers had her provided with. Addresses which for one reason or another might be suited as a safe house or flat used by Christine von der Marwitz and her Friends.

So far none of that stood out. She heaved a sigh; she might have to check them all out. Where to start? There was one place located near the Hubertusbrunnen, not too far from Nymphenburg Palace. This would be one place as good as any to start with.

She waived to the waitress, paid her bill and left.

Munich: Hubertusbrunnen, Safe House, 1300 Hours:

Christine, Kate and Anna had agreed on a plan: They would leave for the Amalienburg shortly and doing what every tourist, who visited Nymphenburg Palace, would do: a stroll through the Park, there they would recon the vicinity of the small Park Palace thoroughly and take up positions there. They would be in direct contact via concealed microphones and eye contact.

Munich: Hubertusbrunnen, in a parked car, outside the Safe House 1315:

Sarah McKenzie had chosen her surveillance post so, that she could comfortably watch the comings and goings of the location, which her contact had named as probable safe house. She watched as the large wooden Entrance Door opened: Three women emerged. “Jackpot”, the Dark Lady grinned. There were they: Christine von der Marwitz, Kate Beckett and Anna Romanova.

All three had opted for casual, which meant jeans, sneakers and blazers, wide enough to hide a gun. The Russian had a large Burberry shoulder bag over her left shoulder.

Christine von der Marwitz stood still for a moment, scanned the Area, looked for a moment in her direction, shook her head slightly then followed her friends, walking along the Südliche Auffahrtsallee purposely walking along the canal.

Obviously, they wanted to make a tour through the Park or the Palace the Dark Lady guessed. She would have to wait then, till they returned.

Munich: Südliche Auffahrtsallee, 15 Minutes later, Amalienburg:

Kate and Anna were chatting amiably, while Christine walked along silently, obviously lost deep in thought. Anna gave her friend a sideways glance: “Chris, something is on your mind, I can tell.”

“Yes”, Christine replied thoughtfully. “When we left the house”, “I had a strange feeling, as if someone watched me, watched us.”

“Did you see anybody?” Kate asked the Pianist. Chris shook her head “No, it was just a feeling.”

Kate nodded: “We know we can trust your feelings Chris”, smiling inwardly and remembering the scene in Uthörn, when Chris had played the Piano and sensed her without seeing her.

“When we return, we make a sweep around the house and check the area and the security Systems. We've had unwanted visitors more than I like.” The Detective proposed.

Anna agreed, “Sounds like a good plan. I hate surprises!” – her mind wandered back to a certain Parking Garage in Nuremberg just days ago …

In the meantime, they had reached the artificial lake in front of Nymphenburg Palace.

They entered the Park through the southern Passage at the Central Pavilion and made their way to the Amalienburg:

The Amalienburg had been built by Elector Karl Albrecht in 1734 as a small pleasure Palace and hunting lodge for his wife Anna Amalia, daughter of Emperor Joseph I.

Christine, Kate and Anna did what every Tourist would do: They made the tour guided through the Amalienburg, went around it, chatting, making selfies, Chris explaining some architectural details, walking around then and left only to take up positions around the place which guaranteed that nobody would came near the Amalienburg unnoticed. Then they waited.

Munich: Nymphenburg Palace, Park, Amalienburg around 1500 Hours:

Kate looked at her watch. So far nobody had showed up, who would fit the bill as von Instetten, the Photographs of him, which they obtained, had been made 20 Years ago though. A man could change a lot in all that time.

Suddenly the hairs in her neck raised, her subconscious had reacted before her. She scanned the area again, carefully: There was a man, thin and tall, walking haltingly, looking around. Definitely not a professional, no trained observer would have acted this way.

She spoke in her Mike: “Chris, Anna – before the Entrance of the Amalienburg look!”

"Got him” Anna responded.

“Me too”, Chris replied. “What do you propose Kate?”

“We give him two more minutes and then you approach him slowly and carefully, do not spook him.” The Detective advised her friend. “He wants to talk to you, so try to put him at ease.”

Michael von Instetten was anxious, nervous – he looked around, searchingly. Then a movement between the trees, he saw a woman striding purposefully at him. He tried to remember Pictures of Christine von der Marwitz from the Internet: Could that be her?

The Woman was tall, blonde, her sunglasses sat casually a top her blonde mane, flowing freely down her back; she wore Jeans, white Sneakers – and a light yellow blazer. She moved gracefully, with the elegance of a large feline.

Then she halted her step, two Meters away from him, appraising him with those clear and deep green eyes, observant but not unfriendly. “Michael von Instetten?” Her Alto Voice sounded melodious and warm.

Christine studied the man before her attentively: Von Instetten was tall, thin, even haggard, his grey eyes sunken deep into his skull. He looked like a man aged early. Von Instetten must be around what? Sixty? He had the appearance and the bearing of man at least 20 years older.

“Christine von der Marwitz?” It was the raspy, papery Voice they had heard at the phone.

“Yes”,

“Are you alone?” He asked scanning his surroundings nervously, like an animal pursued by its hunters.

“No, my friends Anna Romanova and Kate Beckett keep watch around here.” Von der Marwitz gestured at the surrounding trees. “I hate surprises –and we had quite a few in the last weeks. But I think you already know that.”

She looked at him “Why don´t we walk a little while we talk. My friends will take care that we are not disturbed.”

Von Instetten hesitated then nodded. They walked in silence for a moment. Chris knew that Kate and Anna would shadow them. At last she broke the silence: “What do you want to tell me and my friends Herr von Instetten?”

The Architect stared straight ahead, as seeing something other people didn´t: “I sold my soul to the devil, and the devil drove a hard bargain, I have paid the price for my vanity.”

“Your work for Carl von Winterfeldt, you mean?” Chris returned.

“Yes. For my shame, that is true.” the broken man sighed.

“And why do you want to talk to me now? What has changed?” Chris pressed him – carefully.

Von Instetten looked at her, incredibly tired.

“You know, I´m tired of running, of looking over my shoulder and of waiting to feel the knife in my back.” He replied, sounding weary.

“Then do not run anymore”, Christine said simply.

“Easier said than done” von Instetten said bitterly “You have no idea how dangerous Carl von Winterfeldt really is!”

“Believe me, when I say, we do by now.” Christine´s voice had sounded even, but von Instetten registered that a shadow crossed the features of the Artist for a fleeting moment.”

Agitated he continued: “That Journalist in Hamburg, Peter Riefenstahl? He was shot in broad daylight.”

“I know I sat across him when he was shot." She said remembering crystal clear the moment when blood and brain had sprayed in her face in a fine mist and Peter´s head had dissolved into a bloody mass.

Unabashed von Instetten followed through: “And Peter Stromberg? He was shot too in his well secured Villa.”

“Yes, he was”, Christine responded evenly: “Peter Stromberg was aware of the danger, we warned him, but Stromberg decided that he would aid us, despite his life at stake, because he believed that we would bring von Winterfeldt down in the end. And we intend to honour his memory.”

“How very noble”, von Instetten added sarcastically. “You know I´m no hero.”

“Most people aren't, but they do the right thing in the end” Christine replied unmoved.

“What if von Winterfeldt had tortured Reichenbach to get the information that I'm still alive?” Von Instetten sounded desperate now.

Christine looked him straight in the eye: “He doesn't know; if von Winterfeldt knew, we wouldn't be having this conversation now and Reichenbach was not tortured by Carl von Winterfeldt: I did.”

That gave the Architect pause; he stared in open disbelief in those clear green eyes.

“Reichenbach had Anna abducted and tortured in his dungeons” she made a gesture at Anna, who followed them with Kate 20 Meters behind them.

“I shot his left thumb off to persuade him, releasing Anna unharmed. I cut his right little finger off to remind him, what would be in store for him, if he ever laid a finger on his Daughter in Law ever again.”

“And yes, von Winterfeldt is most likely responsible for assassinating Reichenbach and the abduction of Sophie Reichenbach and we will save her! The question is: What will you do? Will you help us? Or will you wait for von Winterfeldt´s Valkyrie´s to come for you?"

Von Instetten regarded her, as if he saw really saw Christine for the first time, “You are really committed to this, aren't you?”

“Yes, we all are”, Christine said simply.

“I need time to think things through”, von Instetten spoke at last.

“Come with us” Christine urged him.

“No, you are safer, when I´m not with you. I will come to you!”

“You can call me anytime” Christine replied and gave von Instetten her card.

Von Instetten took the card, turned abruptly on his heel and vanished between the surrounding trees. Christine looked after him thoughtfully. Kate and Anna approached her:

“What did he say?” Anna prodded Christine. “He says he needs time to think things through; I could not persuade him to come with us. Von Instetten wants to talk but he is holding back.”

“So we are none the wiser”, Kate stated flatly, “Yes?”

"Yes and no." Christine paused a moment before she spoke again, “I think, I got him to consider helping us. The man is a nervous wreck, consumed by fear and guilt. Let us get back to HQ and listen yourself, I recorded our conversation.”

30 Minutes later inside the Safe House:

Chris, Anna and Kate sat around the table and listened intently to the recorded conversation between Christine and von Instetten. Kate concluded: “I think, you got through to him, but he is paralyzed by fear – we will just have to wait.”

“I'm not comfortable with letting him go” Anna mused.

“Me neither”, Christine responded. “But we must build up trust first – and if he decides not help us …." The sound of the melodious doorbell interrupted her midsentence.

They looked curiously at each other: “Are we expecting any guests, Chris?” Kate wondered.

“No … Kate, we don´t, take a look please!”

Kate went to the Security console and stared at the woman standing before the front door:
The visitor looked directly in the Camera and smiled.

“I'll be damned." The American muttered under her breath.

The Dark Lady, I presume? Assassin, inflitrator, interrogator and all-round pain in the ass?

Now _this_ will be an interesting conversation - though not necessarily a very pleasant one.

Lots of info to process in this chapter and now the dark lady is at their door... What will happen next?
Nice choice to select Crissy as Sybille.

Just one question, any particular reason the last part of the chapter was all in Bold?
Thanks for reading. Feel free to comment.

Nope slackywacky that was not by purpose. I just did not find the error, I will correct it tomorrow :)

Yep, this chapter might be rich with Information, but necessary plotwise - to convince von Instetten will be crucial in bringing down von Winterfeldt.

O, wow, this contact is truly different than the three men the trio met earlier. He is not confident or trying to display strength. That makes me think that it is either true or it is one big act. Knowing your style, Munich will not be a (just) a walk in the park (sorry, bad pun), and much worse is awaiting the girls (bondage, for example, is kinda a prerequisite). It almost seems too obvious that this nice gentleman will be killed off (which will reflect badly on the trio again). Also, nice twist at the end.

The wisest choice Mineira1986 ? Considering their common history? Probably not :) But Saraha McKenzie is no coward - and ressourceful she is, among many other things. But we will see how this plays out, this evening, around 2000 MEST :)

30 Minutes later inside the Safe House:

“What is it Kate? Christine called after her.

Kate returned in the dining room a look of astonishment on her face. “You look like someone had hit you with a bludger squarely on the head, or are some sheep bleating for entry? Anna jested. But Kate ignored her friend´s remark.

“You are not going to believe who is on our doorstep. Get your guns!”

Anna and Christine looked quizzical at her friend, but did then as Kate wished and followed her to the door, weapons drawn.

Sarah McKenzie stood before the large wooden Entrance Door. She used every ounce of her professionalism to quell her nerves, as she heard footsteps approaching from within the room.

The Door swung open. In the midst of the Hallway stood Christine von Marwitz, on her left and on her right stood Anna Romanova and Kate Beckett their Guns directly trained on her head.

The Dark Lady lifted her arms; palms open in a calming gesture:

“Hey Girls, no need to make a fuss, I'm just here to talk. May I come inside? Standing on the doorstep like this, I feel like advertising the “Watchtower”, you know.” A sweet smile curled her lips.

The three investigators changed a look then Kate spoke calmly, ever the consummate professional: “Come in, but slowly, carefully – if you try any tricks …”

She let the sentence hanging in the air. “Enter and close the door. Then take two steps two steps forward and lace your fingers behind your head."

Sarah complied and as she stood still; Kate briskly searched her for concealed weapons, while Chris and Anna stood on opposite sides of her, three metres away. "While the detective searches me, both have a killing shot, should I try anything. I would expect nothing less."

Kate stepped back, "She is clean."

Christine von der Marwitz turned and walked down the Hallway. Anna motioned with her gun to the Dark Lady: “After you” Carefully minding their distance Kate and Anna let Sarah McKenzie pass and followed her and Christine into the spacious living room with its high ceiling, a large Grand Piano was dominating the room.

“There is always a Piano involved with you, isn't there?” The Dark Lady joked. They had reached the centre of the Room von der Marwitz turned and spoke for the first time, her face an inscrutable mask.

Her tone was conversational, even cordial: “You do understand that we are little surprised that you have shown up here, after everything that has transpired the last weeks. How is the neck by the way?” The Pianist had obviously hit a nerve, because a shadow crossed the face of their visitor.

If she was angry, the Dark Lady did not show: “I am here to pay my debt.” She said simply.

Von der Marwitz eyebrows went up. “Okay then, let us talk. But you understand that there are some protocols here in place” a little smile curled her lips.

Anna advised her opponent sweetly: “If you move so much a muscle, I put a bullet in you.” Her gun steadily trained at Sarah McKenzie.

“My, are we grumpy”, the Dark Lady sighed, but said nothing else.

“Okay then." Christine nodded, returning their attention back to the Dark Lady: “You do not mind that I and my friends have to talk strategy first? Strip” she ordered her opponent. “Down to Bra- and Panties you can keep the hose on too” she said graciously.

“How very kind of you”, Sarah McKenzie muttered, but began to strip.

30 Minutes later:

Sarah McKenzie now reduced to Bra, Panties and black hose sat on a high-backed wooden chair in the middle of the room. Oblivious to her surroundings because of her eyes covered with a heavy padded sleep mask and the noise cancelling buds in her ears.

She sat perfectly still thanks to the tight bonds which fastened her to the chair. Anna had voted for a sensory deprivation hood, but to her chagrin Kate and Chris had decided that Blindfold and Ear buds were enough for the moment.

A very large purple ball gag filled the mouth of the Dark Lady to capacity. She already drooled profusely on her ample breasts.

Anna looked at her opponent. She and Kate had done the honours: Finger Control Mitts. Hands and Elbows tightly tight together behind the high back of the chair. A breast harness, and a tight crotch rope Anna had insisted on and Kate and Chris had agreed this time.

Legs tied together: Two rope bands above the knees, three below. The tightly tied big toes tied back to the ropes around her wrists, so that the Dark Lady sat now in a tight sitting hogtie.

Surprisingly enough the Dark Lady had been silent, while Kate and Anna had trussed her up. Now she sat silently on the Chair, not even testing her bonds, but sitting perfectly still.

Kate, Chris and Anna watched her: “How do we play this?” Chris asked her friends. “As gladly as I would visit some payback on her for torturing my soles and mummifying me, I think we should at least hear what she had to say.” Kate ventured. “She came here of her own free will. She had no weapons on her not even a hair pin, I checked.” as she caught Anna's raised eyebrows.

“I hate to admit it, but you have a point here” the Russian agreed, “Too bad, we have no sheep here though I think McKenzie would enjoy a foot spa!”

Kate just rolled her eyes.

“It is settled then”, Chris concluded. “We hear what she has to say and decide then what to do with her. She is not exactly running away, is she? We hold all the aces.”

“Anna, remove the gag, the blindfold and set ear Buds on listening mode.”

Sarah McKenzie blinked a few times till she could see clearly and moved her jaw. Across from her sat her three adversaries, Christine in the Middle, Anna at her left, Kate Beckett at her right.

“So” Christine began to speak: “You want to pay your debt, Sarah, why is that?”

“Her tone is neutral” Sarah thought, a stark contrast to their last meeting, when the icy coolness of the woman had frightened her to the core. Something was different. Maybe von der Marwitz had not forgiven her, for killing Peter Riefenstahl, but she had obviously decided to forego her feelings for the time being. The Dark Lady was intrigued.

“Could I have a drink of water first please being gagged makes me always thirsty: Kate and Anna changed a look and the Russian stood up, produced a water bottle and pressed it surprisingly gentle again her lips. She took a few sips then Sarah McKenzie concentrated on Christine von der Marwitz:

She looked for a brief Moment down on her bound thighs, and looked Christine directly in the Eye: “You asked me, why I want to pay my debt? We sit on opposite sides, the space between us, like the border between our worlds. I steal Art and you recover it.” Christine returned nothing but indicated by a slight nod Sarah to continue.

"We disagree on many things, but I believe that we, I and you and your friends understand the warrior´s code of the Samurai. We live by a code of honour we follow the way of Bushido.”

“When we were at that Hotel Room in Heidelberg you had every right to kill me, but you granted me the chance of an honourable death and then you spared my life, which means I'm in your debt. And I'm honour bound to pay that debt.” She fell silent.

It was Anna who broke the silence: “This sounds all very very noble, gallant, even chivalrous call it what you want.” the Russian couldn't hide the sarcasm in her voice completely:

“You threatened us in Hamburg, tortured us, killed Peter Riefenstahl in Hamburg and Peter Stromberg in Heidelberg – and now we should believe you, that you are seeing the error of your ways? Sorry Chris, sorry Kate, but I do not buy that story.”

The Dark Lady regarded her for a moment. The Russian had spoken with Passion and there was something new beneath the surface she could not place. She sensed a subtle change in the attitude of the usually so bubbly Russian:

She gave Anna a closer look: there were, well concealed, but discernible, traces of dark shadows beneath those dark eyes, something had happened since Heidelberg she mused. And the Thief wondered what could have caused that change.

Sarah McKenzie nodded: “I hear you. And I understand your doubts. But you are right Grand Duchesse, there is indeed more." she looked at Christine again.

“You know, that von Winterfeldt wants to collect you?” Christine just nodded, intrigued where that conversation might lead. “He is more dangerous that you think” and she told her audience about what had happened in the Kaulbachstraße.

When she had ended, Kate summed it up: “It comes down to this.” she said: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Is that it?”

“If you put it that bluntly: Yes!” The Dark Lady countered, remarkably patient, “Look at it this way, if we combine our resources, our chances taking down von Winterfeldt are much higher.”

Anna grudgingly nodded: “How would that work? Even if we consider your proposal, you understand that there are certain “trust issues” between us, you know?”

Christine who had kept silent for the last few Minutes interrupted: “I think we will have to discuss that in private. I hope you understand that.” The Dark Lady nodded. “I want you to think about it that is about all I ask.”

“Gag her again, blindfold her and set the Ear Buds on Cancelling Mode again” the artist told her friends.

Anna gagged her with the massive ball gag once more and whispered in her ear, "If our decision goes against you, mine will be the last face you see." before the Dark Lady could react Anna slips the blindfold in place and inserts the ear buds, leaving her to await the verdict. The Russian had definitely changed.

The three Friends looked at each other: Kate was the first to speak: "Call me a trustworthy fool, but she has a point: We have much better chances with her, then without her. She possesses inside knowledge we could capitalize on. And her skill set might come in handy.”

Christine nodded: “Anna?”

The Russian shrugged: “I hate to admit it and I trust this bitch not so far as I can throw her, but Kate is right. In the End it is you who has to decide if you could work with her and forget for the moment that this bitch is responsible for the death of a very good friend.”

Chris nodded thoughtfully, “This is what I think!”

30 Minutes later inside the Safe House living room:

Sarah McKenzie must have dosed off. She woke up, when somebody fumbled at the buckles of her blindfold. She felt that the straps of the ball gag were also loosened.

She blinked: Before her sat the three investigators again: “Hi Sarah”, Anna cheerily waved at her, your Karma is good, and our Glorious Leader,” she gestured at Chris, “has decided to take you up on your offer” The Russian became suddenly serious again: “Believe me, when you betray us, I will end you personally.”

“Anna” Chris chided her and turned then to the Dark Lady: “We will release you now I suggest you freshen up and then we will talk.”

Anna and Kate released her completely, save the crotch rope. “You can do that yourself, Sarah” the Russian grinned and even the American could not supress a smile. The Dark Lady took her clothes and went into the bath room, walking not really graceful.

When she returned 20 Minutes later, the three investigators fixed her with their piercing gaze. “Have a seat”, Chris motioned to a chair across them, calmly.

“Let's lay down a few ground rules first”, Christine began: “You surely understand that there are certain trust issues."

Sarah registered that the hot headed Russian nodded enthusiastically while Kate Beckett observed her with the calm air of the skilled Interrogator and said nothing. “Those two are an interesting combination. Fire and Ice.”

Christine continued: “This means that you will stay with us from now on, tonight you will sleep in the Safe Room of this house. In fact, it is not so much safe room but a cosy apartment with a separate bathroom. This is not open to debate.”

The Pianist paused, but the Dark Lady just kept listening: “Agreed. Go on."

“Since we are four now: We will stay together whenever possible, if we have to split up, we will form two teams, which means that you and I will work together and Kate and Anna will be the other team.

Obviously Sarah McKenzie´s Surprise must have shown on her face. “Do not think that I have forgiven and forgotten, but we will bring von Winterfeldt down only if we learn to trust each other, right? I give you my word of honour that for the time being we work on this together, I will let the past remain in the past and I expect the same from you.”

Sarah stood up, and to the surprise of the others she went to Chris and held her hand out to her. Chris stood up they looked each other in the eye, a long moment, and shook hands. Something seemed to pass between them.

“Now that we have settled this let us talk about the job at hand.” The Pianist continued.

“What do you want to know? The Dark Lady asked.

Anna cut in: “Why don´t you tell us, what happened in Heidelberg and after?” …..

Two hours later:

“I guess that will be all for today”, Kate stated. “I for my part … I am starving. Shall we go out for Dinner?”

“I have a better Idea”, Sarah McKenzie returned: “Why don´t we cook together?”

The three friends exchanged looks: the doubts on Anna´s face were obvious.

“Hey, I promise not to poison you.” the Art thief grinned, “Scouts honour and my Chicken Vindaloo is legendary! “

Anna´s face brightened up: “We have a deal, but I will look you over your shoulder the whole time!”

Kate and Chris exchanged a grin, and then Kate explained to Sarah McKenzie: “You must know that the way to Anna Romanova´s heart leads through her belly!”

Anna pouted mockingly.

Not very much later the heavenly scents of Indian Cuisine filled the large Kitchen.

Two hours later:

“That was delicious, Sarah!” Christine sighed contently. “But I think we should call it a day for now. The next days will be demanding.” She turned to the Dark Lady: “I will show you to your rooms. Follow me please!”

Anna interrupted: “We will accompany you.”

“No, I think this will not be necessary.” Chris cut her off. Anna seemed inclined to discuss the issue, but let it go then.

Chris looked her in the eye: “We have to learn to trust each other Anna, and if I'm not back in 10 Minutes you can come after me, okay?”

A short time later Kate and Anna went up the Stairs. “Don´t you think Chris is a little too trusting Kate? The American pondered the Question for a moment: “You can see it that way sure and I understand where you are coming from, but see it this way Anna:

Don´t think this is easy for Chris she has the best reasons of us three to distrust the Dark Lady. But I think she wants this thing to work for the greater good and we should accept that. That does not mean that we will throw caution out of the window.”

The Russian considered that for a moment, then nodded: “Okay let us give it a try. The Chicken Vindaloo was a good start – my insides still burn!”

Kate just smiled and looked then appraisingly at her friend. “Anna may I ask you something?”

Anna nodded. “Don´t get me wrong but you were a little terse the whole day, is everything okay?” Kate asked her

Anna kept silent for a moment then sighed: “I did not sleep very well, the last night. Now and then I´m back in that White Room again you know …” Kate touched Anna´s cheek softly: “Should I stay the night with you Anna? I think I know some remedy for you sleeping problems ….”

“Would you do that, Kate?”

“Of course, I will, Anna. Come to my Quarters in 15 Minutes, ok?” Anna nodded.

15 Minutes later, Kate´s Quarters:

Kate had changed into her PJ´s done her usual before Bed routine when it knocked. “Enter” she called. Anna entered in a silken black dressing gown and “surprise, surprise” Kate thought Birkenstocks. Kate couldn't suppress a grin.

Anna raised her Eyebrows. “What?”

“Oh, I just noted that you have grown fond of your new Birkenstocks."

“Well, they are comfy and they are stylish .... sort of” Anna added, “What do you have in mind Kate?” She changed the subject.

“Why don´t you take of your gown and slip of your shoes? Then we began with your relaxation therapy Grand Duchess.” The American gestured to her bed: There lay several silken scarves in different colours, a large collection of silk scarfs and several large handkerchiefs.

Anna looked on the bed and then back to Kate, the American explained: “I got the Idea when we wrapped out Christine in Nuremberg.". She grinned. “We will forego the Vibrator and the Crotch rope though."

Anna grinned now broadly: “Sounds good to me.”

“Where do you want me?”

“Just stand beside the bed”, Kate replied.

“Hands at your sides, perfect!” In a first step Kate tied Anna’s left wrist to her left thigh and her right wrist to her right thigh. Next Kate bound Anna’s upper Arms to her body above the ample bosom of Anna, another band below her breasts and third above her hips.

Then Kate began tying Anna’s legs together. Three scarf bands above the Joint and three below. When Kate had tied Anna´s Ankles together, she stood back and gave Anna an appraising look.

“How are you?”

"Tight and very comfy!" The Russian grinned. Indeed, Anna felt very relaxed already.

“Okay, then let´s wrap you up”, Kate returned.

Kate helped Anna lying down on the sheet; she had lain across the bed. Wrapping Anna up took some effort, she tucked the end around Anna´s feet and bound then silk scarves first at the neck, then around the feet then at regular intervals.

“I cannot move a muscle but I´m comfy” Anna observed.

“Now for the something to give you a quiet night! Any last words? You will give me a signal when it is too much, won't you Anna?" Kate asked.

Anna nodded and Kate set to work. She used one Scarf as stuffing and folded another across Anna´s lips. A blindfold completed the ensemble. Anna´s breathing had already become deep and regular. Kate stroked the silk enshrouded body softly and slowly.

30 Minutes later Anna was fast asleep. Kate removed the blindfold and looked at the relaxed features of her friend.

"Sleep well, my friend." Kate whispered. Since they had rescued Anna out of Reichenbach Castle she had not seen their friend so relaxed.

Same Time Safe Room in the Cellar:

Sarah McKenzie lay on her back and stared at the ceiling and let the day pass before her inner eye. She had thought it a joke, when von der Marwitz had said that the safe room was a full-grown apartment with its own bathroom. It had been true. The safe room was indeed more a suite in a five-star hotel than a safe room. All in all, things had gone very well.

The Dark Lady had been sure, that von der Marwitz would at least hear her out though but she had been prepared to spend the day in uncomfortable bondage, but nothing of the sort. Von der Marwitz had made it clear that she had neither forgotten nor forgiven but Sarah McKenzie had sensed the determination of von der Marwitz to make things work for the greater good.

That she had decided to work with her opponent together as a team was a clear signal. And since that hour in the Hotel in Heidelberg the Dark Lady knew, that the Pianist was not only a brilliant Piano Player but highly skilled with the blade. The following days would be interesting.

The Dark Lady drifted slowly away into sleep.

Same Time Bed Room of Christine von der Marwitz:

The day had been intense, Christine thought: the morning run, then the Meeting with Michael von Instetten. She was sure that she had gotten through to him, but what the man would do in the end? Impossible to say:

Von Instetten was consumed by his remorse and paralyzed by fear. If he would be able to pull himself together, it would make their task so much easier. The location and the floor plan of von Winterfeldt´s HQ would be a sword in their hand.

The appearance of the Dark Lady had been a surprise beyond belief. Her instinct told her that von Winterfeldt had made a serious error in judgement when he had decided to “end the business relation” with Sarah McKenzie.

She had sensed the determination of the other woman to set things straight. The Valkyries had already learned that the Dark Lady was an opponent one should not underestimate.

She and Christine von der Marwitz were very different in characters and methods but they respected themselves as professionals and as warriors. They both were guided by the same code of honour.

Christine sensed, Christine just knew that this day had been a turning point in their Quest for the Weinstein-Collection. Till now they had mostly reacted to von Winterfeldt´s moves. But since Nuremberg they had a chance of bringing the game to him.

Von Winterfeldt would pay and they would rescue Sophie Reichenbach, they owed her so much. They were duty bound to rescue her: A life for a life.

“How long is it since I played Piano the last time?” Christine thought. It had been in Uthörn. Neither in Heidelberg nor Nuremberg she had found the opportunity to practise. As she had told Kate: Bach cleared the mind. Tomorrow morning, she would begin the day with Bach.

And Robert: They had phoned in Nuremberg and she had talked to him 30 Minutes ago. Robert gave her strength. That they had met in Heidelberg had been a wonder. When all this was over she and Robert would spend time together, finding out, what they had. In Heidelberg she had felt so safe, when she had given up control and letting Robert tying her up. I

This was a very interesting chapter and surely unexpected. I had expected some further treachery from the Dark Lady as having her leave the story was unexpected, but such brave/foolish act I had not foreseen. This is surely a twist to make the adventures of the trio more interesting, and there will surely be lots of difficult decisions to come: What information do they share with Sarah? Her addition to the squad and the unusual target of this location will surely make things a lot different. Well done!

If I may have one small criticism, is that the phrase "strip to your bra and panties" seems to be the catch=phrase of multiple characters and the go-to option if they surprise and capture their enemy, and then leaving them with vibrators is also a central theme (I wonder how often the trio and Sarah have to restock them). Maybe the mutual preferences in bondage is just a coincidence or the first sign that Sarah is not so different as she appeared at first (and far less evil then some).

This is amazing, Caesar73, it has everything. You even worked in the sheep! Fantastic read! It is impressive that you have caught the spirit of Bushido so very well. And you have embedded it in a story with action, intrigue, mystery, mayhem, and tugs, of course. Your characters are just so likeable, or hate able, as the case may be. Continue onward, sir, continue.

Mmmm... I want to mention that it was a missed opportunity, from my perspective, to force the Dark Lady to sleep restrained because of "safety reasons". But I won't complain since I prefer the Dark Lady tying the main trio, not the other way around ;)

Also, I understand that both Christine and the Dark Lady are bound by an honor code, but I find it interesting that the mentioned code doesn't stop them from stripping down their enemies, uses vibrators and tickle them heh.

On a final note, a two-person team Anna-Sarah would be quite interesting.
