Highclere Castle, the Earl´s Study later:

The Honourable George Henry Molyneux Herbert, the ninth Earl of Carnarvon looked at his watch. It was a quarter past ten, at half past eleven he awaited his mysterious guests. Yesterday he had received a rather peculiar call from London.

A Mister Smith had been on the line. Mr. Smith had told him that he was working for the government and given him a Number to call him back. Before he had called back Sir George had checked the Number, it was indeed an official Number, belonging to an Office in Whitehall.

When he had returned the call, Mr. Smith had told him, that it was in Her Majesties government´s best interest, a matter of national Security that he would receive a couple of Guests tomorrow afternoon. Then he had ended the Call. Sir George had his suspicions about the true identity of the mysterious caller: MI 5, MI 6? He was even more curious though about the identity of his “Guests”?

The earl rang for Stratham. Stratham was the embodiment of the British butler. “You rang Sir?” the Butler asked politely “Has Lady Georgina yet returned?” the Earl inquired with only the slightest ounce of impatience “No Sir, Lady Georgina has not returned” Stratham returned with professional calm befitting the true Butler “I will inform you as soon as her Ladyship has returned”

“Very well” the Earl nodded “When our Guests arrive, bring them to me at once”

“As you wish Sir” Stratham bowed and left almost noiselessly. Sir George was not worried, not yet, sometimes Georgina got carried away when riding out. No reason for concern he told himself.

A Cottage near Penwood, southwest of Highclere Castle

Sybil sat before her screens and checked the Smartphones Kirsty and Hayley had retrieved at the British Museum - again. True, she had told Chris, that the Algorrythms used to encrypt the Phones had been unique, but there had been something nagging her in the back of her head all the time.

Something she could not place, something oddly familiar about those codes, like a signature. Could that be? Could it be possible that? No, impossible. That had been a lifetime ago, should their paths have crossed again ….? After all these years? Now? At this time? At this place?

Unknown Location in the Vincity of Highclere Castle

Hathor thought about her conversation with the High Priestess. Christine von der Marwitz IT-Specialist …. Sybil was brilliant; the German was almost a genius, almost as good as herself- but almost only. They had connected instantly at the MIT, had some very good times, crossed the lines frequently and got away with it – they had even hacked the Pentagon without getting caught.

If Sybil had one weakness though: She always believed in the good. In the divine spark as she had called it, which every human being possessed. Sybil was trustworthy to a fault, harbouring on naïve …

Maybe this was a weakness she could exploit. She would not tell the High Priestess though “I am not just the nerd-in-residence” She tapped some commands into her keyboard.

Highclere Castle, the Earl´s Study, 1030:

The Earl looked up. Precisely at 1030 Stratham knocked at the Door “Sir, your Visitors”
“Thank you Stratham that will be all” Sir George dismissed him. He looked at his Visitors, four Women had entered.

One was a tall blonde, with emerald green eyes, her Companion was even taller, dark haired with Slavonic features; he noticed that the left side of her face bore the distinct markings of a heavy beating and a fresh scar in form of a lightning bolt above her left brow,

His third guest reminded him of the young Sophia Loren – the resemblance was striking. The last member of the quartet seemed vaguely familiar. Less tall than her companions, with brown locks that fell down in waves on her shoulders.

“Sir George, we are very grateful that you made time, to meet us at such short notice” the tall Blonde had spoken and bowed her head ever so slightly “May I introduce my colleagues and myself?”

“It would be my pleasure” the earl nodded and the blonde continued “I am Christine von der Marwitz” she spoke English without a trace of an Accent “I and my friends are specialized on recovering lost and stolen pieces of art – you may have heard about the Weinstein-Collection”

She pointed to the tall dark haired woman “Allow me to introduce my friend and colleague Grand Duchesse Anna Alexandrovna Romanova to you” the Russian nodded politely.

“Welcome Your Grace” the Earl acknowledged her, he had heard about that Maverick of the House of Romanov. Anna supressed a small smile: obviously their host knew the proper etiquette how to address a Grand Duchesse unlike some other people she had met lately.

“This is Sophie Reichenbach, the Corporate Lawyer of our Firm” von der Marwitz introduced “Sophia Loren” – “and last but not least Doctor Evelyn Callahan curator of the Egyptian collection of the Metropolitan in New York”

“Why don´t we take a seat and you tell me, why the Government wants me to talk to you Miss von der Marwitz?” the Earl made an inviting gesture to a group of comfy Arm Chairs near the large Fireplace.

After they had all taken a seat the Earl continued “So Miss von der Marwitz, why is it, why you wanted to talk to me? Mr. Smith sounded a bit mysterious if you ask me”

“That´s his style” the tall dark haired Grand Duchesse smiled, but before she could continue the door of the study was opened and Stratham entered, his face pale and the earl´s Smartphone in is hand.

“What is it Stratham? I made it clear that I did not want to be disturbed” the Earl sounded irritated, Chris found.

“Sir” - and Anna could see that it costed the butler much, to pull himself together – “Sir, this call you must take – it is about Lady Georgina!”

The earl´s face lost any colour “Give me the phone” he snapped and the butler gave him the bhone “Who is there?” he barked, he listened then he turned to Christine “I put you on Speakerphone”

“I did not expect to see you so soon again Christine” the four Women looked at each other, they knew the voice only too well “I just told the good earl, that we have his most beloved treasure in our grasp” the voice was dripping with malice “So listen very carefully: You will find the scroll for us and deliver it to us, you have eight hours. We will call again!”

The Connection was severed.

The earl starred at his Visitors “What the Hell is this about? Why did someone kidnap my daughter? Tell me!” he demanded. Chris and Anna shared a look: the blonde nodded to Anna “Will you explain?”

“Sir George” the Russian began “There are a few things you must now ….”

Unknown Location in the Vincity of Highclere Castle, thirty Minutes earlier

Georgina´s head pounded. “Where am I? What happened?” Only slowly her memory returned: She had been on her morning ride. She had wanted to clear the obstacle. She had been hurled from Black Prince´s Back – she had wanted to get up. A cloth had been pressed on her face, then just blackness.

Georgina tried to open her eyes. She couldn´t; everything stayed black, she could not hear, she could not move “Am I paralyzed? Panic gripped her, her breathing accelerated. Only slowly the panic attack subsided, as a voice rang into her ears “Calm down – you have been kidnapped but as long as you behave and your father follows our Instructions nothing will happen to you. Nod if you have understood me!” Georgina nodded “Good, stay calm – and everything will be fine” And she was alone again, but not before someone molested her breasts and pinched her nipples.

The young woman protested into her gag “Stop it girlie” she heard the voice again “Don´t play the prim and proper lady you like that attention – your nipples do” A chuckle and another round of groping “You have quite the pair you know, I bet your boyfriend loves playing with those firm (grope), fleshy (grope) mounds (grope) I surely do!” Georgina sensed that her tormentor walked around her “And those delicious feet, so soft!” she shuddered as the other woman let her fingers glide above her nyloned soles.

“See you later!” The voice mocked her “We will have much fun later honey!” And she was gone.

Georgina began to analyse her predicament: all around her was dark, some sort of hood? Georgina felt heavy pads around her mouth, across her ears – and eyes. Her mouth was filled by something squishy and large – a foam ball?

Her hands had been tied behind her back, her elbows too … They were welded together with coarse rope. She still had feeling in her fingers though

If Georgina had been able to see herself she would have seen this: She had been tied on and to a sturdy bench, her legs stretched out before her, she had been relieved of her boots and socks. Her ankles had been tied together, her legs at her calves, beyond and above the joint and to the bench. Georgina tried to move her feet and found out, that her toes had been tied together too.

She tried to keep her emotions under control … what would her father do?

Highclere Castle, the Earl´s Study

“So this is the Situation” Anna concluded “The Egyptian and her associates have kidnapped your daughter to get that scroll, they know you would do everything for Georgina, so she was the logical target”

For a Moment there was Silence as Georgina´s Father digested the Informations Anna had given him.

“But I have no idea where that scroll is – we thought that it was a myth” he sounded desperate.

“For that we have Evie with us” Chris spoke for the first time “And we will get your daughter back”; the utter surety of her statement calmed the agitated father somewhat. And as he looked in von der Marwitz´ green Eyes he saw compassion and a steely determination in them.

He felt that he could trust that Woman.

The Pianist turned to her Companions “This is what we will do”

I had to grin reading that. I suspect with Chris and team around, the daughter should not worry, well, not too much at least.

Splendid chapter, Caesar73. It is wonderful how you are unfolding your fascinating tale for us.

It appears that there is much to be discovered about Georgina. It will be a delight to see that jewel uncovered.

ooooohhhh, poor Georgina's predicament is a teasing read causing mental pictures to appear. Excellent stuff. Hopefully, she will be saved. Hopefully, in due course (i.e.: not at once ;) :D )

Thank you :) That was the intention - Georgina is in for a though ride. The question will be: How shall the good guys find her? So far they know clue where to search for her and they are up against a formidable enemy. The last race Chris and her friends lost. If it is this time the other way around remains to be seen - next Wednesday will tell more

Thank you slackywacky :) But be not too sure: The last encounters with Anck-Sun-Amun haven´t been a walk in the park for Chris and her friends: Anna escaped a dreadful death barely. They could rescue Sophie and Evie, but with much suffering - and the race for the second scroll they lost - and now Georgina has kidnapped. And the good guys have no idea where to look for her .....

A Cottage near Penwood, southwest of Highclere Castle, around 1100 AM

Sybil read the Message for a third time and a fourth “Hi Sybil, want to talk about old times? Meet me at Diana´s Temple at 1230 PM. Fatima”

Was this a Trap? On the other Hand, if she played this right, there might be an opportunity here. She went into the living Room “Kirsty and Hayley do you have moment?”

Highclere Castle:

“And you think this will work?” Sir George sounded not totally convinced

“It is the best course of action” Anna reassured the Earl “Evie and Amanda will search for the scroll, while we search for your daughter. We will need a few things though” she turned to her Companions “Chris what do you think? I and Sophie stay here and hold the Fort you return to base and get the necessary equipment?” “Sound like a good plan to me” Chris agreed and rose.

The Temple of Diana:

Hathor was excited. This had been fun – she had sneaked out of the Manson they used as HQ, without informing the High Priestess. Anck-Sun-Amun would have never allowed that little detour.

But Hathor just knew: If she would be successful they would win a decisive advantage. She had observed the Temple quite a while there was nobody to be seen.

There at the Temple stood a woman, it was Sybil and she was alone. Perfect, overpowering her should not prove to be too difficult: Sybil was a gentle Soul and a pacifist at heart. She would not offer much resistance if threatened.

Hathor left her hiding place and crossed the free space between the Trees and the Temple.

Sybil registered Movement between the clumps of Trees: It was Fatima: she knew the posture, the walk, the body language. The other woman closed the Distance quickly and came to halt one Metre before her.

“So it is really you” Sybil smiled at her former Roommate at the MIT “You have learned a few tricks” she added “You too” Hathor smiled “You work for von der Marwitz now, how is she as Boss?”

“Chris? Chris is great she is the best what could have happened to me – you Fatima converted to the Dark Side –obviously”

“It is Hathor now” the other Woman countered “Hathor” Sybil nodded “I never knew you had so much interest in Ancient Egypt”

“Things change” her former colleague replied “Why don´t we walk a bit and talk?” “Nah” Sibyl declined “I feel not like walking” “I fear you have no choice in the Matter” Hathor hold suddenly a gun in her hand, showing her true colours “You will come with me – or suffer the Consequences. How I hated that, back then: You, ever taking the moral High Ground, ever Goody Two-Shoes. We can´t do this, we can´t do that …” she spat. “You are so naïve!”

To her surprise Sybil seemed not irritated in the slightest, she even smiled “Am I naïve Fatima? Did you really think I came alone?” she smiled and Hathor froze as she felt the cold muzzle of a gun in her neck. From behind the temple another woman appeared, tall, blond, with piercing blue Eyes – a large gun firmly trained at her. Sybil smiled, almost apologetically “Who is the naïve here now, Fatima?”

“You know Fatima” Sibyl continued smiling “It will be the other way around: You will come with me or Kirsty and Hayley will subdue you easily - you have read their personal files, haven´t you?

“I suggest you drop your gun” Kirsty stated flatly “Now!”

Hathor sighed – but complied, the blonde before her – Hayley King – would not hesitate to shoot she knew. And if “Kirsty” was Kirsty Garrett, resistance would be futile. The Briton had served three tours in Afghanistan, returned highly decorated – and been Elizabeth Crawford´s second in command. Garrett would take her out, without breaking a sweat. She dropped her gun on the grass.

Unknown Location in the Vincity of Highclere Castle

Georgina became restless; she did not know how long she could hold her bladder. Not long before she would have to make a mess – this was so embarrassing. Her face turned flaming red. A voice rang into her Ears “Listen your Ladyship we will allow you a trip to the loo and after that a drink – if you promise to behave, nod if you comply”

Georgina nodded “Here is the Drill” the Voice told her “We will untie you from the bench, you will have to hop like a cute little bunny to the Powder Room. Nod, if you comply!”

Georgina nodded again, she would have done almost anything not to wet herself and get a drink. She felt as the Bonds which held her on the Bench were loosened, she was helped to stand on her nyloned Soles.

She would have crashed to the floor if two Arms hadn't gripped her upper Arms and steadied her. A short while passed “Now hop like a little Bunny we not let you fall to the floor”

Georgina sighed and began to hop. Hop. Breath. Hop. Just as she thought she could not go any Metre further she felt that she was turned around.

The voice chuckled “I love the way your tits move when you hop. We must do this again!”

Someone fumbled at her trousers and pulled them and her panties down. How embarrassing! Unceremoniously she was sat down on the Toilet “See?” the voice told somebody else “Her Ladyship is fully shaven!” Georgina´s face flushed – not for the first time in the last hours.

After she had done her business she was cleaned up and her clothing adjusted. Then she had to hop back and was tied to the bench again. Her handler used to opportunity to have another go at her breasts. Georgina mewled in indignation.

The voice rang again in her ears “We will now remove the gag. You will not talk unless allowed to. Or the Gag goes in and you get no drink, are we clear? Georgina nodded - she would have done almost anything for a drink.

The hood was pulled of her head – not very gently. And Georgina discovered that under the hood she had been blindfolded with a heavily padded sleep mask. Someone fumbled at her neck.

Nimble Fingers eased the large foam-ball out of her mouth. Georgina was on the verge of speaking – but remembered the stern warning of her handlers. Instead she moved her aching jaws, tried to get some feeling into them. A cup was pressed firmly against her lips and the captive drank in small Sips.

At some point her Captors decided obviously that she had had enough. The Gag was put back in and tightly buckled behind her Head and she was hooded again. She was blind, deaf and dumb again. Georgina tried not to panic, to calm down her frayed nerves “I must not lose hope, Father will do anything to get me back” But it was difficult to keep her fear in check. Time trickled by slowly. Who were her Kidnappers and what wanted they from her father?

Suddenly a chill ran down her back. The Atmosphere in the Room had changed – another Presence had manifested itself. All her senses were blocked, but she sensed it. As if the room temperature had fallen several degrees. She sat as still as a rock.

Smiling malevolently down at tightly restrained woman Anck-Sun-Amun asked Nofret “How is our treasure behaving?”

“So far Her Ladyship has given us no more trouble” her second-in-command confirmed “She is really a beauty” her Boss chuckled “look at those firm Breasts under her Turtleneck – I wonder if her Ladyship wears a Bra ….”

Georgina was startled as someone laid both hands on her breasts and squeezed hard and protested into her gag.

“No she is not wearing a bra – a naughty Girl! And naughty girls need to be punished – see to it Nofret – I trust your creativity”

The High Priestess made motions to leave “And don’t cause any permanent damage – for now!”

“It will be done as ordered High-Priestess!” Nofret confirmed.

Georgina felt that the Ropes which held her tethered Ankles to the Bench were loosened; something hard was put between the Bench and her Ankles and her Ankles tied down to the Bench again. Her Ankles were slightly elevated now, which caused additional strain on her Calves – next her big toes were bound back to her Calves – Movement of her feet was now impossible.

If Georgina could have seen, she would have seen that one of her Captors had rolled a strange Apparatus in the Room. Basically it consisted of several rollers which rotated.

On each roll bristles or feathers were mounted. Her handler positioned the device in a way that the bristles of the first roll were firmly pressed against Georgina´s nyloned heels.

With a devilish grin on her face, the Egyptian pressed a button “Let us warm up her Ladyship – she must have cold feet.”

Georgina shrieked into her gag as the rolls began to roll over her feet, from the heel, under the arches and the balls and worst between the toes –and all she could do was wiggling her not bound toes. Then the torment stopped as sudden as it had begun. She panted heavily – the hood made breathing even more difficult.

A gloating voice rang into her Ears “Enjoy the rest you will need it – to pass the time though …” Georgina felt, that something was pressed between her legs, against her crotch and anchored there. She gasped, they wouldn´t … they would and they did.

It was a wild ride: At first either the “tickler of hell” tormented her feet: in the Intervals between the Vibrator did it´s devilish work – and then both at once. After roughly one hour Georgina was a quivering sweaty mess, her Pussy was throbbing, her Soles burned like Fire. Limply she hang in her bonds.

Obviously very pleased with herself Nofret gloated “Let her rest for an Hour – then it is time for round two – and bring a pair of Scissors. Large ones." she ordered one of her subordinates.

A Cottage near Penwood

The more she thought about her Situation the more Hathor got angry with herself. She had been downright naïve – or simply arrogant to assume that Sybil would come alone. The Sybil she had known would have come alone – but obviously the German had indeed learned a few new tricks.

The auburn-haired Briton and the blonde American had handled her with professional ease. Hayley King had searched her quickly and efficiently while Kirsty Garrett had given her no opportunity for an escape. And the Egyptian knew from the files, that she was no match for either of the two women.

Her hands had been cuffed behind her back, she had been blindfolded and ear buds had been stuffed into her ears. The ball gag which ensured her silence was a very large one and she began to drool instantly. After a short walk, she had been unceremoniously bundled into a Car.

Now she sat in a cellar-Room, tightly trussed to a sturdy chair. Her cuffs had been replaced by rope. Basically she had been tied in a sitting hogtie.

Hathor could do nothing but wait.

Upstairs Kirsty, Hayley and Sybil briefed Chris and Sarah about the Incident “That was risky Sybil” the Blonde regarded the Brunette with a stern look – but then her expression softened and a smile curled her lips “Well done – all of you!”

“That we got their Communications Specialist free of Charge is a game Changer” the Thief summarized. Chris nodded “Indeed, and this is what we will do: I will drive back to Highclere Castle and inform the Earl – you Sarah persuade our Guest to cooperate, do everything you must do – and I mean everything”

The Dark Lady smiled diabolically “I haven´t persuaded anyone for quite a while – but you can assure the Earl that we will get the Information where Georgina is stashed away, one way or the other”

“That´s what I am counting on” Chris face bore an expression of grim Determination “Hayley and Kirsty make sure that Sarah and our Guest are not disturbed” The Blonde turned on her Heels and left.

Hayley and Kirsty looked after her “You wouldn´t cross her Path, when she is in that Mood” Hayley stated “Not if you value your physical wellbeing” her Friend agreed.

Highclere Castle 30 Minutes later, Study:

Chris, Sophie, Anna, Kate and the Ear had come together in the Ear´s study while Evie and Amanda were still searching the Egyptian Collection of Highclere Castle, so far without success.

“This is the situation: Sarah will wrangle the Information we seek out of that Hathor –and then we will mount a Rescue-Operation” Chris concluded.

“And you are sure, that this Sarah can get the Information out of that Woman?” the Earl sounded dubious.

Kate smiled grimly “Believe me, she can and she will” “She can be very persuasive” Anna added with a small smile “We speak from experience”

“And now?” the Earl inquired

“Now” Anna replied “Now, we wait” projecting calm.

Unknown Location in the Vincity of Highclere Castle around the same time

A firm grip under her Chin woke Georgina from an hour of exhausted fitful Sleep “Listen precious you will get another bathroom break and another drink, the same drill as before, understood?” Georgina nodded weakly “Then it is time for Round Two” the Speaker announced ominously.

20 Minutes later she was again tightly tied to the bench as before – with one change though. Her Captors had applied a tight crotch-rope before they had tied her down to that bench again.

Georgina was no novice to bondage – but this Rope was tied cruelly tight, it cut deep into her – and her Jodhpurs and Panties offered only minimal Protection. She considered herself not a coward, but the cold detached Manner her Captors handled her, gave her the Creeps.

She froze as she felt something sharp pressed against her Breasts. The Reason became soon clear to her: Her Captors cut her Sweater off to lay her Breasts bare.

“Aren´t those two a beautiful Pair?” one of Nofret´s Underlings leered with barely disguised lust at their Hostage and bowed down.

Georgina uttered a heavily muffled Protest as her Breasts and Nipples were tightly squeezed and kneaded. Skillfully her Tormentor manipulated her Nipples till they stood erect – and Georgina felt a sharp pain, as first nipple clamp was applied to her right and when to her left Breast. She panted heavily.

Georgina shrieked as the Vibrator was again tied against her Crotch – and the “Tickler of Hell” began his devilish work again.

A Cottage near Penwood, the Cellar

Hathor must have dozed off – but she felt that someone had entered the Room. Someone removed her Ear Buds and her Blindfold. Before her stood a tall Woman with Black Hair cut into a stylish Bob.

Her Clothing was black too, a shiny black Cat Suit, knee high high-heeled black boots. The Woman smiled down at her. But the smile did not reach the Eyes – and it was cruel. The black eyes which seemed to drill into her, stone-cold and hard made Hathor shiver “This must be the Black Lady” – the lady had a towering reputation in certain circles:

During her research Hathor had stumbled above a statement: “It is said in some circles that if she dies, all of the treasures in hell will be in her repository before Satan knows she was there. She is highly skilled in Martial Arts and has qualified as a Sniper”

“You and I will have a little chat now” the Woman announced in a Voice as cold as her black Eyes “You will talk – sooner or later – but you will talk. They all do in the End. But it is your decision how we do this. This can go very fast and almost painless – stressed “almost” – or it takes longer and then it will be rather uncomfortable. So how is it? Will you tell me what I want to know?”

Hathor did her best to look defiantly as she shook her head.

The other Woman sighed “Too bad … they never learn” but then she smiled that cruel smile again which reminded her so very much of the High-Priestess “Honestly? I hoped that you would say no – it takes much more time, but is way more fun this way – for me!”

She left and returned with a Trolley. Hathor´s Eyes grew wide as she saw the vast array of Instruments on it.

“Impressive” the Dark Lady chuckled “isn´t it?”

Highclere Castle 30 Minutes later, Egyptian Collection:

After Hours of fruitless search Evie was frustrated. They had searched most of the Collection – which was impressive – but had had no luck so far. “Doctor Callahan! You must see this” Amanda sounded excited and beckoned Evie to come to her: “See this Inscription on that Stele” Evie read once and read a second time. “You may be onto something” she whispered “I will be dammed!”

Unknown Location in the Vincity of Highclere Castle around the same time

Anck-Sun-Amun sat behind her Desk and studied the first Scroll, she had to admit that the text was difficult to decipher. The Pyramid-Texts were extremely difficult. A polite knock at the Door interrupted her train of thought – Nofret entered.

“How is our Guest?” she inquired deviously smiling “Pretty warmed up – I would say – we will let her rest a while, before we go for the third round”

“You do that” the High Priestess smiled ominously “we don´t want to get her too comfortable, she might get bored”

The High-Priestess changed tack "Have you seen Hathor lately?”

Nofret shook her head “Not in the last three hours – she told me, that she wanted to get some fresh Air”

“Send her to me as soon as she is back” the Egyptian ordered her Subordinate “Will do!”

A Cottage near Penwood, the Cellar

Hathor hung limply in her bonds and looked out of red rimmed Eyes at her Tormentor. The Black Lady had almost effortlessly stripped her naked and tied her Hands to a Pulley in the Ceiling till the Hacker had to dance on her tightly bound toes.

Her Elbows were also tied together above her head. A crotch-rope and Nipple Clamps completed the Ensemble. Her Head was held rigid by the thin cords which anchored the three inch Harness-Ball-Gag to her other Bonds.

The Thief had begun with a “Warm up” as she had called it, with the riding crop: Her firm butt had turned bright red “You want to talk?” the thief had asked. Since she could not move her head, she mumbled something into her gag “No?” The Black Lady smiled coldly, another mumble “Right then” Then she had used the whip on Hathor´s back. She had hit hard and precise, without breaking the Skin. The Hacker did not know how she had endured that.

Sarah McKenzie had rightly deduced though, that her Prey was near her breaking Point – and switched to a different sort of torture. Ice Cubes and hot Wax – and then the large Hitachi-Wand.

Skilfully she had pushed the Egyptian ever nearer the Edge – but every time denied her relief. “When you talk now, you will get a nice orgasm – if not we will start all over again. So, will you talk?”

The cold black Eyes seemed to burn a hole in Hathor´s soul. After a Moment which felt like an eternity, she nodded.

“I will remove your Gag now and give you a drink – then we will have a civilized conversation”

“The woman is barking mad” Hathor thought.

She drank greedily. 15 Minutes later she had been tied to a Chair – the Thief pulled another Stool nearer. “What I want to know first …” Haltingly the Hacker answered – McKenzie admonished her “Don’t get back into bad old Habits – or I might use the whip again! Believe me: I will know when you lie”

Upstairs Kirsty and Hayley waited. The American looked on her watch “45 Minutes now” Kirsty was on the verge of speaking as the door to the cellar opened. The Black Lady looked very pleased with herself.

“She did talk” Kirsty stated “She did” the Canadian smiled “We know all we need to know – and poor Hathor was so spent, she had to take a nap”

“Fine” Hayley nodded “Sarah inform Sybil, so that she can do some research. I inform Chris and the others”

It is nice to see the good guys get a break. Sybil has learned a thing or two.

What fun the Dark Lady is having with Hathor/Fatima. One wonders if someone will discover that more information is needed.

And poor Georgina, at least the bad guys are not trying to extract information. The girls just want to have fun.

A marvelous chapter, Caesar73. As always, you leave us eagerly waiting for the next installment following your cliffhanger.

Thank you GreyLord you are very kind :)

Yes, Sybil has indeed learned a few tricks and this chapter was a welcome opportunity to let Sybil shine. Hathor paid the price for her arrogance. And it was actually fun to see the Dark Lady as we know her from the very beginning of the first hunt. Georginas Captors are obviously having fun - I doubt though Georgina finds her situation funny. We will see, if Chris and Company are able to rescue Georgina. Things are definitely escalating. And at the current state of affairs it is not clear who will win the race for the third scroll. If Chris and friends can save Georgina- they might gain an advantage, if not .... well, we will see - next Wednesday

Hello my friends, this is the next update - it more on the short side, due to dramturgical reasons, I hope you enjoy it nevertheless :)

Highclere Castle, the Earl´s Study

Chris listened to Hayley and nodded “Very well then, we clear things up here and get back to you shortly” The blonde ended the call and turned to her Audience that looked expectantly at her.

“Good news?” Anna inquired with a smile “The Best” Chris confirmed and turned to the Earl “We know now where your Daughter is held” The Relief of Sir George was palpable “And what now?”

“Now we will mount a Rescue Operation” Anna smiled “We will do that” Chris confirmed “But we will have to split up, it is too risky to leave you here unprotected” the Pianist told the Earl.

“I will lead the Rescue Party” Anna stated firmly “I will take Sarah and Kate with me” Chris nodded “Good, I will tell the others to relocate here – and we will protect the Earl and his Family”

45 Minutes later the whole Team reassembled in the Earl´s Study “What have you done with our Guest?” Sophie wanted to know “She is still sleeping – and will awake in a nice cosy Cellar-Room – only a bit damp; there might be rats too, but Hathor won´t mind their Company” The Dark Lady explained casually.

Sybil was still busy getting her Systems up and running.

“Anna will lead the Rescue operation, together with Sarah and Kate – we will secure the Place” Chris summarized “What do we know Sarah?”

“Our opponents have their HQ at a Manor not very far from here, six Miles Distance. To the Estate belong several smaller Cottages. The Earls daughter is held in one of them, not in the main complex” she pointed at a red dot on the Map “Dear Hathor was very forthcoming regarding the security Measures”

“And you believe her?” Kate asked “I do, we know all she knows” the Canadian confirmed “You know me” And the Detective nodded – she had no doubt that Hathor had given away all she knew.

“We have two Hours left till Anck-Sun-Amun is supposed us to tell us, where the Exchange should take place, that does us not leave much time” Chris added thoughtfully “Not ideal” Anna agreed, but it has to suffice” she turned to the Earl “Sir George, we will get your Daughter back in one Piece”

Unknown Location in the Park near a small Cottage:

Hidden behind a few Bushes and Trees, the Rescue Party observed the Cottage. It was not completely dark yet, but dark enough to cover their approach. They would have to cover almost thirty Metres of open ground though, so speed was of the essence.

Anna exchanged a look with Kate and Sarah “Let´s go!” Ducking from cover to cover they closed the Distance to the Cottage, which had only one Entrance Door. They pressed themselves against the Wall. They communicated through Hand Signals. Kate would cover the large Window to the East, Sarah and Anna would go in through the Front Door.

Inside the Cottage:

Georgina was totally and utterly spent. She had lost any feeling of time. The Pain in her Nipples had receded to dull throbbing, which she barely registered. Georgina did not know how often she had been tormented with the “Tickler of Hell” and the Vibrator. Her two Guards were in good Spirits as they prepared a new round of Torment, as suddenly two things happened simultaneously.

The large Window dissolved into Splinters and the front Door flew out of its hinges. Two dark Shadows in body Armour and black full Visor-Helmets sprinted in the Room. A third Shadow jumped through the Window.

This happened so quickly, that the two Guards had no time to react. Anna and Sarah fired at the same time and both Guards fell to the Ground, both hit in their heads.

“Secured” Kate reported “Secured” Anna and Sarah confirmed too. Anna scanned the Room. In its Midst tight tightly to a bench sat a woman, whose Face was obscured by a Hood, her Breasts were bare, her Boots had been removed too.

“Quick” Sarah urged “We need to move, they will have heard us from the main house.”

Anna nodded “Cover us, we will free her”

While Kate severed the Bonds which held the young Woman tightly trussed to the Bench, Anna removed the Hood gently, only to discover that she had been blindfolded and gagged underneath “Assholes” she muttered.

The Russian removed the Earplugs first and whispered soothingly into Georgina´s left Ear “Everything will be alright Georgina, we have come to rescue you, but we will have to move quickly, do you understand me?”

The young Woman nodded weakly.

With practised Motions Anna removed first the heavy Sleep Mask before gently removing the Gag. The Russian scrutinized her. Lady Georgina stared with red rimmed eyes at her, totally exhausted.

While Anna pressed gently a bottle against her parched Lips, Kate made quick work of the Bonds.

After having been forced to sit in this Position for hours, every Move hurt. Gingerly the young Woman rubbed her chafed wrists, where the Ropes had left deep red Indentations. “Who are you” Georgina whispered “Later” Anna pressed on “We have to make a swift get away, Georgina, can you walk?”

"I guess so” the young Woman replied tiredly

“Here put these on” Kate had found her Socks and Boots and her Jacket. The American helped Georgina to dress, while Anna steadied her “We must hurry” the Dark Lady urged them taking Georgina by the Arm they left the Cottage and vanished into the Darkness. Georgina just stumbled along, she would have fallen several times if Anna had not held her “We are nearly there” she encouraged the Earl´s Daughter “Only a little further, you can do this”

So far there was no sign of any Pursuers. Obviously their Escape had not yet been detected. As they sat in the SUV and Sarah floored the Car. Anna pulled her Smartphone out of her Pocket “Eagle One to Base: The Chick is in the Nest. I repeat: The Chick is in the Nest. Over and out”

Highclere Castle, the Earl´s Study

Chris ended the Call “Sir George, good News: Anna, Sarah and Kate have rescued your Daughter. She is as well as she can be under the Circumstances”

And the 9th Earl of Carnarvon, a Pillar of the House of Lords shed a Tear “I so do thank you Miss von der Marwitz, I am for ever in your debt”

“Sir George, thank you, but it is too early to celebrate – it is not over” Chris stated

“What do you mean?”

“What I mean Sir George: The first attempt to get the Scroll by Blackmail did not work, but that won´t stop our Opponents from trying to obtain the Scroll by other means and we must prepare for an intermediate Attack as soon as they discover Georgina´s Escape”

The Earl looked a little crestfallen “What will you do?”

“We” it was Kirsty who supplied the Answer “we will prepare an Ambush”

A knock at the Door interrupted them: Stratham entered followed by the Rescue-Party, their Rifles slung above their backs, their Helmets under their Arms, Stratham announced “Sir, Lady Georgina will join us shortly, she needs to refresh and redress first” Anna exchanged a look with Chris and nodded ever so slightly.

The Earl turned to the Rescue Party “Grand Duchesse, Miss McKenzie, Captain Beckett – I cannot tell you how grateful I am – whatever I can do to show my gratitude I will do ….

In the same second Evie and Amanda burst into the Room while the Earl´s Phone rang. Anna beckoned the Earl to give her the Phone and an evil smile curled her Lips.

She took the Call but said nothing at first, just listened “I have to disappoint you my dearest Anck-Sun-Amun – her Voice dripping with Irony “if you want the Scroll you have to come here and get it yourself. We have found it.

Almost conversationally the Russian added “Checked for your Hostage lately? You get sloppy Bitch – taking out your Guards was as easy as taking Candy from a child. Bye the way: Do you miss Hathor? Don´t bother to stay in touch. Bye!” The Russian ended the call “That was fun!”

Anna´s face bore an expression of grim satisfaction.

“But you provoked her!” The Earl sounded and looked flabbergasted

“That my dear Sir George was Part of the Exercise” Anna replied politely “And that Bitch and I have a score to settle with blood” The Earl looked puzzled at the Russian who had spoken the last words with a certain coldness in her voice – and he eyed the fresh scar above her brow with new interest. There was obviously a story to it

“Father!” nobody hat noticed that Georgina had entered the Room. She had obviously showered and decided to go for comfort. She threw herself into the Arms of her Father, who hugged her tightly.

After they parted Georgina turned to her rescuers. For the first time she could see them without their helmets – Anna´s still discoloured left face, the intimidating black-haired woman, and the brunette with those amazing cheekbones.

“We had no time to introduce ourselves” Anna smiled warmly “I am Anna Romanova, this is Sarah McKenzie and this is Captain Kate Beckett with the NYPD”

Georgina frowned “You are not by any Chance the Anna Romanova, Grand Duchesse Anna Romanova, the famous Violinist?”

Anna´s smile became even broader “Guilty as charged” – and bowed ever so slightly and turned to the Earl “Your Daughter was very brave Sir, you can be proud of her!”

“HmmmHmm” Everybody turned to Evie and Amanda who had followed the Proceedings attentively “We do not want to bother you, but we found the Scroll” Evie added with perfect Understatement.

Short but to the point and as usual with this tale, intriguing.

The good guys (ladies) execute a clean and smooth rescue operation against the enemy.

I doubt that the next confrontation will be as easy for them!

Short, Caesar73. No, sir. It is perfect. Just the right length to tell this excellent chapter. But I will admit, I am left wondering something. Will Georgina, now that she has had a true introduction to the fine art of tugs, be joining your gorgeous gals for more fun and games?

You are probably right the rescue mission was just the hors d´ouevre. What comes now will be no walk in the park. They are up against an enemy who has proven already, that she is absolutely ruthless, who will not stop before she has achieved her goal. Furthermore, we already know, that lives does not matter for the Highpriestess. Underestimating would be foolish. I am pretty sure though that Chris and her friends have learned her lesson after the desaster at the Oirkney´s and Anna´s near brush with death. And this time they are prepared - they can act form prepared defense positions, on the other time a large estate like Highclere Castle is difficult to defend. It will demand all skills Chris and her friends possess and even those might not be enough to fend of the attack of an determined enemy who is as ruthless as she is cunning. So the game is up, but who holds the better cards?

Unknown Location

Anck-Sun-Amun stormed into the cottage, Nofret and two daughters of Isis on her heels, where Georgina had been held captive: The window was smashed, the door wrenched out of its hinges, a pile of ropes lay on the floor. The two guards stared with unseeing eyes to the ceiling. Both had been shot squarely between the eyes.

The Egyptian fumed with rage. That humiliation! That absolute bitch Romanova had enjoyed every second of that call! And she would kill Hathor that total screw up, slowly and painfully! What had that nerd been thinking? How could she have allowed herself to be captured?

Nofret had held her distance, gave her space while her boss raged and raved “High-Priestess – what are your orders?” she asked calmly. And that did the trick: Anck-Sun-Amun got a grip.

“Nofret, we prepare for an attack on Highclere Castle – at once!" She snapped, "We must get that scroll at any cost!”

And Nofret had grudgingly to admit that the Grand Duchesse had played that very well, from a professional point of view: she had provoked her mistress that she lost her temper.

They would have to attack an enemy which was prepared for an attack. They would wait for them – but she had sworn total obedience –so she would carry out any order the High Priestess would give, after all: Death was only the beginning.

Back at Highclere Castle:

“The security systems work at peak efficiency” Sybil reported “We established a perimeter around the castle, and the system should inform us about any intruder”

“Very well” Chris nodded “but we have to be prepared for the worst case. We know, our enemy is resolved and inventive. They may still find a way to penetrate the perimeter” she turned to the Earl “Assemble the staff here in this room. It is easy to defend”

She looked at Anna; a devious smile crossed the Russians lips and she knew that smile only too well “Anna?” The Russian was up to something, Chris could tell “We do have that Hathor´s smartphone … right?” Anna grinned and Sybil nodded “Why don´t we do it that way – and Anna explained and while she spoke, a devious smile crossed the Dark Lady´s lips “This could work, and if not it´s a good diversion – which distracts the enemy; I like the idea” The thief was obviously delighted, this manoeuvre was right up her alley.

“Then we do it that way” Chris concluded “let us prepare, we have work to do”

“And what shall we do? The Earl asked “There is surely something we can do too Miss von der Marwitz”

Anna and Chris exchanged a look and Chris nodded ever so slightly “Sir” Anna began “I do not mean to be rude, but our first priority is to guarantee your safety that of your loved ones – and that would be far easier if we knew, that you are here in a place which is easy to defend.

We do not know where and when our opponents will attack, but they will come – and we will be busy enough to fend them off – we have to assume that our enemy possesses the numerical advantage still – and for “her” lives do not matter” She stroke above her scar absentmindedly.

The Earl was obviously inclined to argue the point but Georgina laid a hand gently on his arm “Father, the Grand Duchesse is right – they saved me, and you want me, you want us to be safe” she added softly.

“Right” the Earl nodded, slightly mollified “You are right Georgina” and turned to Chris and the team “Do all what you deem necessary, I am deep in your debt – and you have more experience in such matters”

Chris turned to her friends “Get ready girls, we have work to do – and quickly”

George Henry Molyneux Herbert, the eight Earl of Caernarvon, and his daughter watched in astonishment as Chris and her team prepared in a cool professional manner as if they had done that their whole life.

A scene which impressed Georgina deeply was as Anna retrieved from one of the trolleys a box made of lacquered black wood, somewhat over a metre in length.

Anna put the box on her palms; bowed and presented it to Chris who bowed in return and took the box. The blonde opened it and bowed in reverence, before she retrieved one long curved blade in a black scabbard which she fastened on her back.

Anna repeated the ritual with a second large box. Chris bowed again, as she held the wooden box gently. She took the blade out of its wooden box and fastened the second blade on her back, all in measured, calm and fluid movements. To Georgina it felt like some sort of ritual, a religious ceremony.

Anna who had registered Georgina´s curious expression crossed the distance and explained “Chris has trained since childhood in martial arts and in kenjitsu – it is a long story - and her Sensei presented her with that daisho when she was 22, because he thought her worthy” Georgina looked in awe at the Russian “Both blades are over 500 Years old and were made from one of the most famous sword-smiths in history, they are invaluable – but they are no toys, those blades were made for war” Anna added “Believe me she knows how to use the blades”

Georgina registered that her rescuer had shouldered a heavy rifle, which she wore with perfect ease the dark haired woman had followed her gaze. Anna smiled “There is a history to that gun too – but that must wait”

“Anna?” Chris called “come it is time” “Indeed it is time” Anna nodded “It is past time” The Pianist turned to the Earl “Two of my friends will guard you, follow every order they gave you, Sophie and Hayley know what they are doing – and do me one favour Sir: No Heroics!” The blonde added sternly.

Chris turned brusquely on her heel and left an speechless Earl behind, not many people dared to talk to him like that – Anna had followed the exchange slightly amused “Chris is that way sometimes, but she will take a bullet for you without hesitation – when this evening is over you will understand that- take care Sir!” Anna bowed slightly and followed Chris.

While they filed out, Kate exchanged a look with her friend “Two Katanas?” “Yes” explained Anna “Chris has trained since we returned from our quest for the Weinstein Collection with two blades, emulating the style of Musashi, she told me Musashi became legend through stories of his unique double-bladed swordsmanship and undefeated record in his 61 duels”

“Chris told me, she had trained that discipline with her Sensei for a long time and you would not want to cross her way, when she uses two blades. The speed is so dizzying, that the blades become a blur, you know Kate I have seen Chris often training with the Katana – but I think she has gotten even faster – if that is possible”

“Then Anck-Sun-Amun should be on her guard” the detective smiled.

“That won´t save her” the Russian added with absolute certainty “And if Chris does not finish her off, I will”

Any warmth had vanished from her voice.

Unknown Location: Around the same Time:

In the dining hall of the manor Nofret had assembled her fellow daughters of Isis and waited for her mistress. She liked what she saw: The twelve other women were combat ready and poised to strike. Besides their guns, each woman was armed with a combat knife and the Khopesh, the ancient weapon of the Egyptian warriors.

A Signal of her smartphone informed her about an incoming message – it was from Hathor! How could that be? Had the Russian deceived them? She opened the message: On the screen an image appeared. From wide fearful eyes a tightly gagged Evie Callahan starred back at her, an ugly bruise under her right eye.

Under the picture a short message: “Have escaped and captured Doctor Callahan – I know where the scroll is. I am in the Egyptian Collection. Exit is blocked. Need help. Cannot hold them for long, H.”

Nofret read the message a second time: Next to the signature were five hieroglyphs which identified the message as genuine. This was Hathor´s personal ID, which only she would know.

The door opened and Anck-Sun-Amun strode purposefully in – an expression of grim determination on her face “Mistress! You need to see this!” Nofret called her boss and showed her the message. The High-Priestess read and an evil smile curled her lips “And you think this message authentic Nofret?”

“I do” the other woman confirmed “Only Hathor would know and use this ID – and she has not used one of the secret signal words for duress”

“I concur” Anck-Sun-Amun nodded “We have no time to lose then – this is what we will do …”

Highclere Castle – the Earl´s Study:

Georgina sat, legs folded under her, nursing a cup of Darjeeling, on one of the heavy arm chairs, which stood near the large fireplace. She let her gaze linger on their two guardians. The dark haired Sophie and the blonde Hayley radiated confidence and competence, the German and the American, the former District Attorney and the former Investigator.

Both women were clad entirely in black, from their combat boots to the black body armour. The Earl´s Daughter was no expert in such matters but to her, they seemed exactly to know what they were doing: The way they handled their weapons, the way they moved ….– and Georgina felt safe in their presence.

Sophie graced her with a warm smile “How are you Georgina? You studied in Cambridge your father told me, I did too! How is Cambridge these days?” And Georgina was glad for the destraction.

Highclere Castle:

Anna and Kate had taken up positions on the roof of the main tower from where they had a good overview over the vast castle grounds. To cover the whole perimeter was impossible.

But it was as safe assumption their opponents would split up their forces for a two pronged attack, maybe even from three directions.

That was the tactic Anna would have chosen if she had been in Anck-Sun-Amun´s place. Anna knew they could not fend off an enemy attack, but they could even the odds and that they would do.

Kate scanned the perimeter through their glasses. There had been no sign of enemy activity until now. Suddenly Sibyls voice rang into her ears “We have a problem: Someone just jammed our perimeter system. We won´t know when and where someone crosses the red line – I am working on it, but you be better on your guard”

“Understood” the American confirmed “Over and out” Anna had listened and scanned the sector in her sights meticulously, from the left to the right and back again. At some point any intruder would have to leave the cover of the trees and bushes of the park to cross the wide open space which surrounded Highclere Castle on all sides. Kate at her side did scan the sector too.

It was Kate who spotted the movements in the dark through her night vision glasses first. Not entirely sure she scanned the area again: There was movement! “Movements at 120 degrees” “Confirmed” Anna responded “I see them too” “I count four shadows” the detective stated “I see them” the Russian replied “Inform Chris!”

“Chris here is Kate” the Investigator called the pianist “Four tangos in Sector 3, at 120 degrees” “Confirmed” Chris replied “Engage them, as you see fit” “Will do” Kate confirmed “Over and out”

Anna counted the shadows again: There were indeed four of them, blending in with their surroundings. The tangos were within range, but in part concealed by the trees and bushes. She counted a third time: shit! One of the targets had vanished.

In exact the same moment Kate spotted a bright muzzle flash from under the woods and a gush of flame, revealing the shooter´s position. Anna had seen it too, without thinking both women threw themselves on the ground of the tower platform. Not one moment too early as the projectile of the AT4, a Swedish 84 mm (3.31 in) unguided, man-portable, disposable single-shot, shoulder-fired smoothbore recoilless gun anti-tank weapon, hit the tower.

The power of the detonation shook the tower as splinters of stone and mortar flew in all directions.

“Anna? Do you copy?” Chris spoke into her mike “Anna!” No response.

The Earl´s Study:

Georgina heard the low rumble of the explosion her eyes widened “What was that?” Her anxiety was palpable. And even the Earl who had served in HRM Armed Forces looked concerned.

Sophie and Hayley exchanged a look. The blonde finally spoke “That was probably the detonation of a grenade which hit the castle. Chris told you: our adversaries will do all to reach their goals. Hayley had spoken calmly – but Sophie sensed her concern: Had someone been wounded or killed?

In the meantime on the tower:

Anna´s ears still rang. If they hadn´t taken cover in time they would be dead. With a groan she stood. Kate was still recovering, but was also scrambling to her feet. Then the Russian realized that their enemies must have almost reached the castle now. What she did now was reckless and dangerous but she had no other choice to fulfil their task.

If their attackers fired a second grenade she was dead. But it was the only way. Quickly she scanned the grounds. There! The three tangos were only fifty metres away from the castle´s walls. The violinist took aim pulled the trigger.

With a piercing scream her target went down and did not move anymore. Anna fired a second time – and missed, she cursed in her mother language. Next to her Kate fired with her rifle. Another scream: The detective had hit the shooter who had fired the grenade.

Anna heard Chris voice in her mike “Anna, Kate do you copy?” “Yes” Anna acknowledged “We had some trouble. Two, I repeat two tangos, maybe three have reached the castle”

A few seconds of silence “I am glad you are alive” Chris´ relief was palpable “Pack your gear and relocate to position Omega”

“Confirmed, Position Omega it is. Over and out”

Anna and Kate looked at each other. Then they hugged tightly “This was the second time in a few days we got almost hit by a grenade, let us not make a habit out of it, right?” Kate said “Right” Anna confirmed with a little smile “Let us get down to Position Omega”

Kate and Anna packed their gear and began the descend to the second Floor.

Highclere Castle: The Earl´s Study

Georgina had frozen as the piercing scream had rang through the silence, followed by another several seconds later – then silence “What was that?” she turned to Sophie with fearful eyes.

The German had stayed entirely calm as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened “That was Anna” she explained “She is an excellent sniper” “Has she ….” Georgina had trouble forcing the word across her Lips” “Killed?” Sophie completed the question calmly. “Probably – but usually she disables her targets only”

“Sophie?” Hayley interrupted the conversation “Message by Chris, we should be on the lookout, the enemy has entered the castle”

The dark haired woman nodded. Sophie and Hayley took positions on both sides of the two winged entry and took cover “They are coming” Sophie spoke calmly it was more a feeling, instinct that told her an enemy attack was imminent.

Hayley nodded and gripped her MK 23 tightly, her finger at the Trigger. “Everybody on the floor and take cover” she admonished their Charges “Now!” she added more forcefully as the Earl hesitated. Not a moment too soon.

A tremendous blast blew the double winged door out of its hinges and sent splinters searing through the air like angry wasps, as three Women, clad entirely in black charged into the room firing short precise burst with heir submachine guns.

Sophie felt a searing pain at her left temple and a heavy blow against her helmet which stunned her. Two sharp bangs followed and her assailant crashed to the Floor. Sophie fired at the other woman, her first shot missed; her second hit its mark: squarely in the chest. The heavy 45 ACP round punched through the armoured vest.

“Sophie watch out” Hayley rammed her out of harm´s way, landed on the floor, made a role, pushed herself on her knee and fired, once, twice. The blood pounded in her ears, the adrenalin coursed through her veins. She breathed heavily and looked around: Sophie knelt behind the leather couch ready to fire again. The stench of blood and cordite hang heavy in the air.

The two women looked at each other: Sophie´s helmet had a very deep dent on the left side and blood ran down her left cheek, but the German smiled “We have done it!” Quickly they picked up the weapons of their fallen enemies. Sophie turned to their charges “It is over – for now”

The Earl, his daughter and the staff were stunned in silence.

“Sophie, Hayley? Is everything alright?” Chris voice sounded through her mike. The American took a deep breath, before she responded “We are fine, Sophie and I fended of an attack – and we took three targets down – it was a close call though”

“Very well” Hayley could hear the relief in Chris´ voice “Be on your guard!” Chris admonished them “Over and out”

A long empty corridor on the third floor:

Carefully Anna and Kate moved forward to the rendezvous point on the second floor. The red lush carpet swallowed any sound, their rubber soles made. Suddenly Anna made a sharp gesture with her hand “Stop!” – at times it paid off to be a full-blown musician: Anna´s sharp ears had picked up a sound. The next corner was not far, four, maybe five metres away. Then everything went south, deep south:

Three black clad figures wielding sharp blades charged around the corner. Only Anna´s quick reflexes saved her from a vicious stroke which would have brained her. So the blade just grazed her right shoulder, deflected by Anna´s body armour. The Russian cursed loudly. The stroke had still enough power to let her stumble.

From behind her a grunt of pain, but her attacker charged again, before she could turn. For a split second Anna froze, as a memory broke to the surface, the vicious attack of Anck-Sun-Amun which had sent her crashing down on the floor at the British Museum. This small hesitation almost costed Anna her live. The stroke missed her by a hair´s breadth. In recollection the Russian could not tell how she escaped that blow.

As her attacker stroke for the third time Anna´s reflexes and training kicked finally in: She evaded the stroke and her kick hit the wrist of her attacker, sending the sword flying through the air, the blood pounded in Anna´s ears, all her senses were almost unnaturally sharp “Come you piece of filth, or are you afraid of me?” she taunted her adversary. With a scream her opponent threw herself at her. The Russian deflected the blow and countered with a barrage of strokes herself: A series of three hard and precise strokes against her enemy´s chest.

The Egyptian stumbled backwards as Anna followed through with a brutal kick against her chest. But she gave as good as she got. One of her strokes hit the barely healed scar above Anna´s left brow. The excruciating pain let the violinist see stars. She managed though to parry the next stroke.

Both women stepped back, both panting heavily, a silent agreement for a short respite but Anna knew she had to end this quickly: She was not at her level best after her encounter with Anck-Sun-Amun. So she stepped forward, attacking with a swift combination of strokes and kicks.

But her opponent was nimble on her feet – and parried most of Anna´s strokes. But one savage kick broke through her defence and send the dark haired woman crashing against the wall. The Russian followed through with another barrage …. “to hell with caution!” she thought.

In the meantime:

Kate was breathing heavily. She had to fend of two attackers. These daughters of Isis were well coordinated. So far the detective had stood her ground – barely though. But the smaller of her opponents became overconfident and lowered her guard for a second. That was the opening Kate had waited for: Her well-aimed stroke smashed the larynx of the smaller woman, who crashed to the ground, gurgling, writhing on the floor, gasping for air – in vain.

The taller of her attackers shrieked in fury and threw herself at the brunette. Kate was driven back by the relentless attack: Inch by inch, one stroke hit her fully on her left eye. The detective stumbled back, lost her footing and crashed to the floor. She tried to role to the side, but her opponent was quick, the Egyptian knelt on Kate´s stomach, pinned her arms down with her knees.

The American did not know where it came from so quickly but suddenly her foe held an evil looking dagger in her hands, the blade bore down. Drawing the blade and striking were one fluid movement. It would have hit her between her eyes, but with all her might, she tried to dislodge her enemy. The blade hit the floor only millimetres away from her left ear. The Egyptian lunged a second time ….Wide eyed the detective stared at the incoming blade “Castle” it shot through her mind ….

Thank you my friend - I will do my best :) I want to thank you and all other readers for the well over 45000 views. The story is nearing a climax that is for sure. But whoever gets the third scroll, this story is far from over. Who will make it in the end? Future will tell. And Chris will draw her two blades to fight.

GreyLord Yes, I could not resist. This was the perfect point to end this chapter and I thank you for your praise. Yours and other commentors encouragement mean much to me.

The battle for the third scroll reaches its climax!

Highclere Castle: Second Floor:

Anck-Sun-Amun and Nofret lead their team through the dark corridor. They had heard the sounds of shots fired outside, the detonation and then the shots fired inside. The High-Priestess had factored some losses in. The team which had closed in on the palace from the east side had completely fallen silent.

What success the team had had which had to attack the Earl´s Study she could not tell yet. They moved carefully from cover to cover. Hathor had told them to come to the Egyptian Collection. Fifty Metres to go: The High Priestess was proud on her fellow sisters. She could sense their determination to complete the task they had come for.

Anck-Sun-Amun knew that they were totally dedicated to the task. Despite the losses they had sustained during their quest; their trust in her preceptor and their loyalty to Pharaoh were unwavering. Every daughter of Isis knew that Amon-Ra would welcome them on his barque and they would accompany the god on his journey through the heavens when they died. They knew that death was not the end of their journey. Death was only the beginning of a new, eternal journey.

The Egyptian Collection:

Evie chewed on the large sponge which filled her mouth to capacity, her whole lower face was covered by wall of white tape, which seemed glued to her skin. The sturdy chair which she was tied to was uncomfortable. Her arms had been tied behind the high back of the chair at wrists and elbows. Additional rope-bands fastened her to the chair.

Above her breasts and below her breasts, her legs had been tied above the knees, under the joint and around her ankles. The sitting hogtie was anything but comfortable. Beads of sweat were forming on her forehead. She felt the cold steel of Hathor´s Gun in her neck as the door to the collection was opened by somebody, her breathing accelerated.

The Earl´s Study:

Georgina had yet to come to terms with the incidents of the last thirty minutes: The moment Hayley and Sophie had told them to get down on the ground, the moment the door had exploded, the ensuing melee, Hayley tackling Sophie - everything had happened so fast and then it had been over – her mind was still reeling. The air was still thick with cordite and blood.

The American and the German had disarmed their fallen opponents. Only then Sophie had allowed Hayley to take care of the scratch at her left temple. The Earl´s Daughter admired the two women, the way how they had handled themselves.

Stratham had covered the three corpses with blankets and Georgina avoided studiously looking at them.

Sophie felt the adrenalin rush slowly subsiding “That has been close” Hayley nodded “Indeed, we had our share of shear dumb luck – time seemed to freeze when I threw myself at you – I still can´t get my head around the fact that I managed it to get you out of harm´s way”

“You played rugby or football Hayley, right?” Sophie joked “I guess I will have a few bruised ribs tomorrow” “and added “That is a small price – for a life” “No” Hayley smiled “I was member of the swim team at High School and College”

And the two friends shared a tired smile before they concentrated at the task at hand. One never knew, what would come their way next.

Another attack could happen any time.

Highclere Castle: Second Floor:

The brooding silence on the second floor was distracting, Anck-Sun-Amun found. Of her other teams none had responded, not a good sign – but they possessed the numerical advantage still. Their multi-front approach had forced their opponents to split their forces.

They would get the scroll and take Doctor Callahan with them. They would bring the three lost scrolls back home where they belonged and Pharaoh would begin his ascent to the Gods and fulfil his sacred duty, to cleanse the earth with fire - wielding the Sun Ray of Amon Ra - from all apostates and unbelievers!

Anck-Sun-Amun and her faithful daughters of Isis had reached the large double-winged door. Behind that door was the Egyptian Collection of the Earls of Carnarvon – and the scroll.

With utmost care the High Priestess opened the door, which swung open noiselessly. She signalled two of her sisters to guard the entrance and entered the dimly lit vast hall, followed by Nofret and Tawosret.

In it were many large cabinets with the priceless artefacts the Earls of Carnarvon had amassed over many decades. But Anck-Sun-Amun had no eyes for the treasures her mind was entirely fixated on the third scroll. Hathor would wait for them at the end of the hall.

In the twilight she could make out one woman tied tightly to a stool – Callahan! Behind her stood another figure: Hathor! Carefully they walked nearer – till they were only three metres away from Evie Callahan who stared with fearful eyes at them.

A cruel smile curled the Egyptians full lips “So we meet again Professor Callahan – and this time nobody will save you! Well done Hathor!”

To her surprise Hathor replied nothing just looked straight at her Mistress – her eyes were very wide. This was the first clue that something was amiss. As if on cue the light was switched on and the sudden brightness blinded them for a second.

“Good evening Anck-Sun-Amun!” an only too familiar well-modulated alto voice greeted them as Christine von der Marwitz stepped into the light, an ominous smile curling her lips “You might wonder why dear Hathor is so incommunicado: Sarah and Kirsty have her in her crosshairs – the slightest move and you can scrap her skull from the floor, personally I would not give a damn about it, but you know as it is: we are only guests here”

Anck-Sun-Amun fumed “So this was a ruse all along – but the code!” Von der Marwitz´ smile became even broader “Sybil knows all the little tricks of dear Hathor – in fact Sybil wrote the message!”

“That is impossible! Hathor would have never given away that information” The Egyptian countered.

“The Dark Lady can be very persuasive” Chris smile grew cold “You shouldn´t be too cross with Hathor though – she is no match for the Dark Lady!”

“It is six of us against three of you!” The High Priestess had regained her composure “Then come and get the scroll!” Chris taunted her adversary, with one fluid motion the artist drew her two Katanas out of their scabbards.

The eyes of the Egyptian widened as she saw the two gleaming razor sharp blades in Chris´ hands, her emerald green eyes radiating a cold fire “Who wants to go first?” the blonde addressed her enemies in an almost casual tone.

“One more thing Anck-Sun-Amun – if you come two steps nearer to Evie and Hathor you will get an electric shock which sends you straight to hell and Hathor too!”

She turned to her companions “Enough chit chat - Kirsty and Sarah let us give that bitches hell!”

“You are bluffing!” Anck-Sun-Amun spat.

“Try me!” The Pianist smiled coldly. The High Priestes hesitated, something in von der Marwitz demeanour and voice told the Egyptian the blonde had spoken the truth

The Pianist turned her attention to two of the daughters of Isis; Nofret and another. Both had gripped their Khopesh´s tightly with both hands. Chris watched them closely. Since their return from Hurghadda Chris had trained excessively with two Katanas. Now she would find out, if her training had been sufficient. Chris had never done this before: fighting two enemies simultaneously with to blades in a real fight to the death. She would give no quarter and did expect none in return.

Head held high Chris strode at her opponents full purpose and confidence, while the Dark Lady advanced at the High Priestess, Kirsty strode at her adversary.

Chris had reached her Opponents by now, treating them with a disdainful smile “You must really fear me, if you have not the guts to take me on alone – your sister in arms at the Orkneys had courage at least, I must give her that – not that it did her any good in the end – you on the other hand ….” The pianist had barely finished her sentence when her two adversaries charged at her – exactly what Chris had intended.

The first strokes of her opponents were powerful but not accurate and Chris parried them effortlessly. Sparkles flew through the air as the four blades connected, with a screeching sound. After their first wild Attack the two daughters of Isis became more carefully. Both sides tried to gauge the strength of their Opponent.

The daughters of Isis were obviously trained to fight in pairs. Always one covered the over, when they went both on the Offensive they did that well-coordinated. This time Nofret attacked: Two quick overhand strokes. Chris parried with both blades. Nofret and Tawosret changed places. Now Tawosret charged.

Their initial attacks had not posed a problem but Chris had the feeling they held back for some reason– or they simply dared not to attack Chris full throttle. Both had witnessed Chris´ skill with the blade in the night at the British Museum – they had seen what Chris´ was capable off.

Chris focused entirely on her two opponents. The pianist stayed on the defensive for now, waiting for an opening. Patience was a virtue: a lesson her sensei had taught her very early. The next attack of Nofret and her fellow sister of Isis was clever: While Nofret delivered a brutal and precise overhand stroke Tawosret aimed a thrust directed at Chris heart.

Such powerful was Nofret´s stroke that Chris staggered slightly, as she parried the stroke with her right blade. With her left blade she swept her other attacker´s blade aside, but it grazed her left shoulder and left a shallow gash. The blonde followed with a hard kick against the chest of the other woman which let her stumble back. Blood dripped from her left shoulder, but she didn´t heed it.

“Playtime is over Ladies!” Chris Smile was pure evil as she went on the offensive herself with a quick complex combination of strokes. But Nofret could not discern a pattern. A powerful backhand stroke with the blondes left blade forced Tawosret back, as Chris delivered a precise overhand stroke at Nofret´s head, which the Egyptian could barely parry.

The blonde followed through with a lightning quick combination with both blades which forced her opponents two steps back. Chris had learned from her fight with the giantess to avoid her blades getting entangled.

She was entirely focused on her two adversaries there was nothing else, only the three of them. She let her Ki flow as sensei Nakamura had taught her so long ago “You must let your Ki flow Christine-San, only then you can become one with the blade, then you and the blade will be one”

The battle waged back and forth. Attack and counterattack followed in astonishing speed. Even Evie´s untrained eye could see that the pianist accelerated the speed of her strokes. In awe the Egyptologist starred at the blonde: Chris seemed to engulf herself in a whirling bubble of steel. Out of sudden a sharp cry of pain and Tawosret´s blade flew through the air.

Chris blow had severed her right hand and the blonde followed through with a thrust into her opponents unprotected chest. In the same second Chris parried a savage both handed overhand blow of Nofret who howled in rage as she saw her comrade crashing to the floor.

Chris smiled evilly “Care to join her in the underworld?” as she strode at her opponent both blades firmly in her hands “Ammit, the eater of souls shall devour you!” the Egyptian spat “Maybe” Chris countered coolly “but not today. You go first” and attacked with a lightning quick barrage of strokes of both blades.

With every stroke she forced her opponent another step back, slowly, but relentlessly. Chris sensed that the parries of her adversary became slower and less accurate “Are you already tired bitch? It is a different thing to torment helpless women than fighting against a worthy opponent, don´t you think?”

And Nofret saw in the blonde´s emerald green eyes the same promise of death and destruction as in the night in the British Museum

“I will never submit!” she countered with a courage she didn´t know where it came from.

“Your fault.” Chris smiled ominously and renewed her attack. In single-combat she had a clear advantage with two blades. With a series of blows Chris forced her opponent further on the defensive, till the Egyptian could not retreat any further – she stood with her back against the wall, literally.

Nofret could only parry and braced herself for another attack. That woman was so fast. The next right-handed overhand stroke was so powerful it wrenched the Khopesh nearly out of her hands.

Chris followed through with a backhand stroke of her left hand which hit the Khopesh just above the hilt. Such was the power of that blow that the over 100 times folded steel of the Katana broke the blade of Chris´ adversary, right above the hilt.

In disbelief the Egyptian stared at the broken sword in her hand and steeled herself for the killing blow – but it did not come, to her ultimate surprise. Chris next stroke hit the wall only millimetres next to her left ear, the tip of the second blade just stopped before her larynx.

The pianist regarded her with a long look then saluted her with the right blade and bowed slightly “You were a worthy opponent Nofret and I respect that but be warned: If you cross my path ever again, if you lay your hands on anyone I hold dear you will regret the day you were born” Chris had spoken calmly but firmly and Nofret knew that she meant every word.

As Chris turned Nofret´s hand went to her curved dagger – without turning Chris spoke “I wouldn´t do that” whirled around lightning quick and with a flick of her wrist she threw a shuriken which nailed the Egyptian´s wrist to the wall “Don´t try my patience” the blonde´s voice was not loud but clear “The next one is between your eyes”

What seemed like an eternity had transpired only in minutes.

In the meantime:

The Dark Lady was impressed as she fended off another lightning quick stroke to her head. She had always wondered how easily the Egyptian had made quick work of Anna – and the Russian was highly skilled in different martial arts she knew

Anck-Sun-Amun was indeed very fast, quick on her feet, and possessed a tremendous power. But the Canadian had been warned by Anna´s fate – so she had not underestimated her Opponent. So far none of the two Women had been able to land a decisive blow or gain the upper hand. They had traded blows and kicks, landed one or two hits each – but that was it.

“Not so easy this time Anck-Sun-Amun, after what Anna had told me, I expected more” the Thief taunted her Adversary as they circled each other, waiting for an opening to present itself

“When I am ready with you” the Egyptian countered, her eyes never leaving McKenzie “you will wish to be in that Russian´s bitch place”

“Empty words Girlie” the Dark Lady smiled “And I am sure you regret that said Bitch still lives” This time the Anck-Sun-Amun did not return an answer, but followed through with a flurry of strokes and kicks, one of those hit the Canadian against her Chest and let her stumble, but with a quick step aside, she was out of harm´s way – and the High-Priestess hit just empty Air.

“Impressive Girlie” the Thief panted “but not impressive enough” and went on the offensive herself – there was such much Power behind her Strokes, that she forced the Egyptian backwards for the first Time – and landed the first heavy hit: a stroke right under the Egyptian´s left Eye, which let the High-Priestess stumble for a second. The second stroke she was able to parry though.

Slowly, but inexorably, the Thief forced her opponent back to one of the large Windows, it was a hard fight and the Egyptian gave no ground easily, at last Anck-Sun-Amun felt the Glass of the large window in her back.

“Nowhere else to go girlie” the Smile of McKenzie was now downright evil “I will rip your head off!” the Egyptian spat “Try me!” the Canadian countered as she attacked with a combination of kicks and strokes. One round house kick hit the High-Priestess squarely in the chest and sent her flying through the window: Shards of Glass and Wood rained to the floor. Cold air flooded the room.

The Thief went to the window and gazed down, looking for the body of her opponent, but couldn’t make out any corpse in the darkness “Too bad” McKenzie muttered and turned her back to the window to face her friends:

Kirsty in the meantime had finished just her opponent, as the sounds of an altercation could be heard from outside the door: The unmistakable sound of a fight. Then a scream of pain and two heavy thuds: Moments later the doors swung open and Anna and Kate entered, very pleased with themselves.

Anna bled from the scar above her left eye. Kate´s right eye was already swollen shut and there was an ugly gash across her left cheek. Organic matter and blood covered her upper body.

“Sorry for the delay” the Russian apologized smiling “We had to convince two of the Egyptians to give way” Anna looked around “Too bad looks like as we have missed the party – where is that Egyptian bitch by the way?”

In that moment she registered the smashed window and the smiling Black Lady “That Bitch left in a hurry” the Canadian grinned. Anna looked really disappointed “I would have sent her to hell myself gladly, did you see a body Sarah?”

“There we hit a little snag” the Black Lady admitted – “I couldn´t make out a body in the Darkness, but nobody survives a fall from this Height unharmed”

“I wouldn´t be so sure” Anna sounded not convinced “But we will have to wait till tomorrow to check”

Suddenly very muffled sounds of indignation interrupted them: Evie glared at them and her poise and her agitated gag-talk made it clear that she wanted to be released “Uups” Chris had the grace to look at least a little bit guilty “I almost forgot about you” and started to untie the Egyptologist “You did a really good job though!” the pianist smiled, which did not improve Evie´s mood exactly.

“Sit still!” Chris admonished her “Or I might hurt you, when I remove that gag!” Kirsty in the meantime took care of Hathor: The hacker found herself soon tightly tied to another stool. Gagged of course, she had offered no resistance – after she had witnessed the events in the hall. Kirsty padded her on the head “I am sure, we will find a nice cosy cell for you later, I heard the rats are very large”

The Briton pointed at Hathor “Chris, we have a few unwilling guests at our hands now, what do we do with them?”

Chris nodded and mulled the question for a moment and turned then to Anna “Anna, why don´t you use your direct line to MI 6 again? I could imagine British Intelligence would be very interested to lay their hands on our guests”

The Russian smiled “Will do” and left the room, to return a few minutes later “They will send a Clean-Up-team within the hour – but James wants to be recompensed personally” she stated “You don´t have a problem with that don´t you?” Kate teased her friend “Actually I don´t” the Russian smiled.

The Earl´s study:

90 Minutes later they reconvened all in the Dining Hall of Highclere Castle. James had been true to his word: Sixty Minutes after Anna´s call a large helicopter had landed at the Gardens of the castle and taken their unwilling Guests with them. Kirsty had taken care of Anna´s wound. Thankfully the scar would not get any worse.

Anna looked around: The Earl and Georgina were present, obviously still coming to terms with the Events of these turbulent days. It had been a hell of a ride – the indomitable Russian had to admit even to her Standards.

True they had freed the Earls Daughter, they had secured the third Scroll, but Anck-Sun-Amun had escaped – the Violinist did not believe that she was dead for one second. That woman had the seven lives of a Cat.

They had not found a Trace of her – a thorough Search of their Enemies Lair had produced not a shred of evidence, none at all. Obviously the Place had been abandoned in a hurry. And Anna was sure, they would meet again – or at least she hoped they would meet again.

She touched the Wound above her left brow. The Egyptian had left her Trace on her. And the Violinist would do everything in her Power to ensure that the next meeting would end in a different way.

A soft clank interrupted her thoughts. The Earl had stood with a Goblet in his Hand “Dear Miss von der Marwitz I owe you and your Friends, all of you” and he looked each and every one in the Eye “more than Words could express – you saved the life of my Daughter Georgina and put your life on the line or someone you did not know till this day – this is a debt I will never be able to repay, but if there is at any time anything I can do for you, I will. Cheers!”

“Cheers” they chorused back and Anna, the wound above her brow dressed, grinned mischievously “If I think about it Sir George, there is something you can do” Chris knew her friend, this smile well enough to know, what the Russian had in mind “Yes your Grace?” “This was a long day and those rescuing business made me very hungry, do you think your staff could provide us with some sustenance?” Sir George nodded and turned to his butler “Stratham see to it that Dinner is served in the drawing room” “At once Sir” Stratham turned and left the study.

During Dinner Kirsty smiled at Kate “You were delayed you said? Why? And Kate told her the whole story of hers and Anna´s encounter with the two daughters of Isis:

The usually so tough homicide detective shuddered as she relived the events “As the Egyptian lounged a second time I thought this would be the end” she said thoughtfully “Suddenly a shot rang out and blood, brain and other organic matter sprayed at my face. Anna had taken her attacker out reacted with incredible speed. I just could not believe my luck!”

The reminder of the evening passed quickly, during dessert Chris´ mind drifted off to the events of this day “What is on your mind Chris?” Anna´s voice broke her out of her reverie “Just thinking” Chris replied “We have obtained the third scroll – but I don´t believe we haven´t seen Anck-Sun-Amun for the last time” The Russian nodded “So you don´t believe she is dead too?” “We found no body” the pianist confirmed “And my instinct tells me she is still alive – don´t ask me how she did it, but yes I believe she is alive – and we should be on our guard when we return to London. I hope Evie and Amanda can make some sense out of the scrolls”

The two friends fell silent.

Tomorrow it would be back to London and then they had to prepare for the concert at Buckingham Palace.

Fantastic, Caesar73. This is text book example of how to enthrall a reader.

One small nitpick. Chi is the Chinese spelling. In Japanese, it is ki. That is what her Japanese sword master would have used.
