Handcuffs, Rope, Chains, and etc... to be put in suitcase in checked bags. In few days or so, I’m doing bondage session with someone so need to know what is okay and what is not okay.

If possible and you have the time and the money, you should arrange to have your bondage gear mailed ahead of you. Otherwise you risk getting your gear confiscated at the gate and thus wind up without any. they might even hold you on suspicion or some trumped up nonsense long enough to make you miss your flight. seems to me the expense of mailing a package ahead would be well worth reducing the chances of hassles with the TSA.

If you actually need your gear, I would go with the idea that [mention]Jason Toddman[/mention] mentioned as it could potentially be the safest. Note-apparently the link will not work properly, but if you just click the Security Screening words, it should bring up a page where you then can click on "What Can I Bring?" which is what you want. I have no idea why this link would not work. There is no guarantee that every single TSA agent will go by this list and it is also important to look into state laws regarding certain items. For an example, I have a variety of handcuffs that I got for my collection when I was living in Vermont, but now that I am living in Florida, they are considered weapons so owning them without a proper license is some sort of misdemeanor or felony here now. So just be careful about that type of situation.

Oh Good God yes. I wasn't even thinking of the difference in state laws (I haven't traveled out of state for some years now anyway; let alone to another country), and if you are going to another country matters get even more complicated. Some countries have such messed-up laws that I wouldn't even consider having a TUG with someone from that country; in many places even full consent is no protection at all. And mere possession of certain items can get you into trouble. Example: in Singapore even mere possession of gum will get you thrown in jail!

Yeah laws are rarely easy and consistent.
Here in the UK, the age of consent doesn't line up with child pornography laws or indecency laws etc. You can have sex with someone, but you can't show them porn.

I've managed to get through before without incident, though I imagine there were at very least some raised eyebrows in the back. Never heard about it, though.

It depends on where you're going and where you're leaving from, because as mentioned some states have weird laws (Florida and New York come immediately to mind.) Even individual cities can have ordinances. A lot of times these laws seem to go unenforced, but I suspect airport security would have to ding you for it. I wouldn't dare fly international, for sure.

Probably are better off just mailing it, sadly.

Also, I'm basing this off two relatively short trips, so take my experience with a grain of salt, I guess. And I only know some of the extra stuff because I got curious and looked it up.

A friend of mine actually attended a seminar on travel at a bondage convention. Besides mailing items, a good solution is to include a note in your checked bag, right on top, that says something like you’re kinky and not doing anything illegal. If your bag gets opened for searching, they’ll read the note, and usually close the bag pretty quick.

I decided not to bring my gear. Instead I will buy when I land in Dallas.

Dallas? Almost as bad as going to an Islamic country as far as arcane laws are concerned!

I can't help wondering about weight limits. Even travelling Eurostar, there is a (theroetical) 20 kg limit (We had to buy a new roler case and split our luggage last time!). That was, of course, a normal tourist Christmas break - oh yes it was!

The last set of "interesting" vintage chain cuffs I found in a junk shop weighed 16 kilos on their own. Trust me, they did!

I'm afraid that isn't a good idea either. You don't know what that "National Security" gang is doing to your mail (regardless of laws etc, let alone the constitution).

Hello Jason Toddman, I as German I know what in East Germany before "the Turn" where parcel get lost, I would not if this would happened too or worser the recipient get deviled form "National Security" with intensive Interview "National Security" .
