History and TUGs and Bondage

Post by JennyTied »

Rope was invented around 15,000 BC. Uused for tying ships, objects then animals and humans - first for carrying, then for ancient clothes and footwear some it was used for restraining people.

Similiarly cloth. That was exactly a restraining material but of course found its way to silence or blindfold victims.

Iron. Used to make fetters to hold all slaves toogether, construct traps and cages for victims, especially damsels-in-distress. Also, for old fashion gags - the scold's bridle. Then the common handcuffs.

Ok, captives, DIDs start when groups fought each other.

Fast forward: Literature or stories. From Shakesspeare to 1920 detective novels we find M/M, M/F....

World Wars: Secret agents getting caught, male and female though again pepole have to read up of such cases.

Pre- and post war. The concept of victims tied entered the young generation - Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Famous Five you name it. in relation, kids games like Cops and Robbers, Capture the Flag saw girls and boys restrained sometimes gagged.

1958: DYK Zip/Cable ties were invented by Thomas & Betts, an electrical company, in 1958 under the brand name Ty-Rap. Initially they were designed for airplane wire harnesses. The original design used a metal tooth, and these can still be obtained. Manufacturers later changed to the nylon/plastic design. Somewhere along the road, this became a restraining agent, even the police use it for handcuffs.

TV: DID or GIDs zoomed acrossed the wrold.

Of course, Drama and acting. Some do it on screen others for BDSM. Now kids see tie-ups in cartoons adult in movies.

That's it.
