The duct tape bandit had struck again. It was not clear who or even what they were, man or woman, old or young, american or tibetan for that matter. They seemed to never leave much evidence, just a well restrained captive with the signature wrappings of duct tape over limb and mouth. The ankle socks stuffed inside were also a signature, pink decorated with balloons. As the female police detective took her crime scene photos, the victim grunted his displeasure. In her jersey accent she said, "there is no sign you are injured or in any danger pal, just hang tight while we document all of this."

Lol there has always been a running gag in popular media that "the burglar's method of tying is a piece of evidence itself, and therefore the bondage much be properly documented before rescuing the hapless person." Old newspapers would often ask to have victims of burglaries (especially beautiful middle aged women) reenact the scene with them for the front page. There was an alleged drive to "record things for posterity" that was likely related to the willingness of some people to be tied up (in a nonthreatening situation for a change) and a sublimated wish to tie on the part of the journalist.
