A gun that can wrap up a standing target.

A machine designed to tie packages closed, but that works equally well with wrists as demonstrated in the video.

I just thought this was cool because I've never seen devices like these outside of cartoons lol.

I've seen the bola wrap thing before, usually tested on either a cop or a reporter. Most of the demonstrations I've seen have them aimed at the person's legs to keep them from running off, but they could theoretically be shot at the arms, or maybe both the arms and legs if two cops have them. I think a few police departments actually have them now. I have seen it noted the ends have sharp hooks on the ends which add weight to them, so it's probably not something you'd want to use for anything else.

But maybe real "tie up guns" aren't far off.

Ah, yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I was wondering how something like that would attach.

Still could make an interesting prop in a story even if it wouldn't be any good for real life play.

Maybe the idea isn't quite as farfetched as expected, at least.
