Though I'd have wanted to say another guy's worn socks and with this bringing forward the opportunity of maybe a dad's sock being introduced to the scenario, I had to think about it more.
In the end, I think the tyer's worn socks is the hottest and most scene-appropriate answer. It gives the tyer further opportunity to show his control and total domination over his bound victim: his ropework took away the ability of the prey to move, and now his very own putrid sock will take away the ability of the prey to speak. So HOT!
