Game Show: Dash for Cash! (M/M)

Post by bigsmile21 »

Welcome back from commercials, ladies and gentlemen! You’re watching “Dash for Cash” and we’ve entered our final round with just one runner remaining. It’s been a wild ride up to this point, with contestants bombarding their rivals with our patented STOP-GOO to make sure no one else gets anywhere near the reward.

Quick recap of the rules: each contestant gets a single chance at navigating the field. There are obstacles for them to jump or climb over, puzzle doors solve, and ends with the infamous 50 Yard Dash: an open track runners have to sprint across, with the Finish Line in sight. Runners must reach the start of the next obstacle by a certain time in order to move forward. At the 50 Yard Dash they’ll be exposed and the other contestants can fire our STOP-GOO cannons at them, sticking them in place and knocking them out of the competition!

The gel from these cannons will stick to the contestants’ running suits, their shoes, the track floor, and to itself. Since there can be only one winner, contestants show no mercy for whoever’s running across the field. We’ve given each runner a helmet and face shield to protect them in case they crash into the track, and to prevent any STOP-GOO from getting in their face. If a runner is shot it may take a few follow-ups to stop them for good. While most contestants aim directly at their target, we’ve noticed some shoot ahead on the path to set up traps. Last week we had a team of contestants coordinate by layering STOP-GOO into a short wall near the end of the track. While not impossible to hurdle over, the runner on the course at the time was too weighed down by other STOP-GOO shots to make the jump! He caught his foot going over, and swung head down into the wall on the other side.

Looks like our last runner is ready. And there’s the green light to go! He’s up and over the first barricade, off to a great start. The next obstacle is set of monkey bars, with a vat of STOP-GOO underneath. I’d hate to face-plant into that! He’s across and has reached the next obstacle and this one’s tricky: there’s three separated platforms he’ll need to jump across but will have to watch out for the low-sweeping padded bar. And wow look at him go! Already across and now at the first puzzle door.

He’ll need a large plastic key to fit into the door, which we’ve hidden somewhere in a ball pit. He won’t be able to see much more than a few inches in front of him, and this is where some runners either get lucky or lose all their time. But he’s found it! He’s wading across the ball pit and unlocked the door. We might have a new record here, folks. He’s got just one more puzzle to navigate and then that dreaded 50 Yard Dash. For this one he’ll need to think fast.

Three foam walls will be moving towards him, one after the other, and he’ll need to contort his body in order to fit the narrow spaces we’ve cut out. If he can’t match the mold, he’ll be pushed back into the ball pit and disqualified. First one up is a ballerina pose. He’ll need to balance on one leg, tuck in the other one, and hold his arms up above his head. The second wall has a crouching sumo wrestler hole in it. And the third wall will have him jumping for joy in an X-shape! Here he goes. And…through the first wall no problem. Second wall no problem. Third wall- wait, he’s stuck! I can’t believe it. One of the other contestants has managed to STOP-GOO the runner’s right shoe to the wall. I didn’t even know those cannons could shoot that far back. That means, yep there it is. The other contestants have started firing. Most of the shots are wild and nowhere near our runner, but this changes the game. Usually contestants don’t have to worry about those until they reach the 50 Yard Dash.

Guess this is it for our runner. The wall is taking him back and soon he’ll be over the ball pit and out of the competition. But wait! He’s just slipped off his shoe and dropped onto the course. He’s taking off his other shoe and darted towards the final leg of the course. I’ve never seen this kind of drive to win before. The STOP-GOO won’t stick to his bare feet, though it will feel weird gushing between his toes. We may have to lock contestant’s shoes on for future runs. He’s reached the start of the 50 Yard Dash and folks it’s raining STOP-GOO out there.

Our runner is less than ten seconds from victory, given his speed on the course. He’s off, keeping his head low and arms pumping. He takes a hit to the legs and his knees join together as the STOP-GOO takes hold. He’s halfway across and hopping now. He takes a round of hits to the chest and the extra weight is pulling him forward. He’s reaching out with his hands but it’s no good, he’s down! He’s stuck to the track floor and isn’t going to be getting up anytime soon. So close, and so thrilling! Looks like the other contestants are still peppering him with STOP-GOO. We’ll end the show here for today and see if we can start getting him out of that sticky situation. Thanks for watching!
