G4S Van Robbery

Post by Terry »

This is set in the same universe as my last fiction; Raid on Highgate House; and happens three months before that fiction. Some of the same characters feature in this one.
-----------------------------

Connor Dawson is a 25 year old security van driver for G4S, a UK based security firm known for its transportation of money across the country. Connor is based in the North West just outside of Manchester. He would go about his job dressed up in his usual protection gear most days. Little did he know was he had been watched and followed for several weeks.

One day, the day of the attack, started off like any other day. Connor would drive round his usual route while those watching him would wait for the perfect moment to strike.

Four thieves known to the Greater Manchester area had followed him throughout using an unsuspicious looking car. David Rawlings, 36 years old, was the leader and a prolific robber and he and his gang had quite an unusual way of standards of robbing their victims. Of course, there was more than just the four in the group but today, only four would be involved in this particular robbery.

They followed Connor and the van into a quiet car park on the outskirts of Oldham. The thieves consisting of David, Carl, Jeff and Charlie were all dressed up in black clothing and wearing black ski masks parked up next to the van and as Connor got out, so did they and quickly ambushed Connor before he knew what was happening.

"What the heck?" Connor cried in surprise as the robbers surrounded him.

Three of the thieves grabbed him while another made a quick look around to make sure there was no witnesses.

"Don't even think about it?" David muttered in a gruff voice as he and his fellow thieves escorted Connor by force to the back of the van.

"Open the door now," David said as he and the others pinned him against the van. Connor wasn't that strong and couldn't fight back against the thieves who were obviously much stronger, especially as a collective.

"O-Okay. P-Please d-don't hurt me," Connor said quietly in a scared tone. The thieves quickly let go of him so he could face the door and he opened the door.

"Get inside and don't make any sound," David ordered as Connor did so as the thieves followed in and closed the door behind him.

Inside were what appeared to be suitcases, each with money inside.

Three of the thieves pulled Connor down onto the van floor as David took some ropes out from his rucksack.

Connor tried to fight them off but this made them hold him down even tighter.

"Stop struggling," Carl said.

David passed his accomplices the ropes as they got to work on tying up Connor on the floor. After about 10-15 minutes, Connor was securely tied up. His ankles, legs, hands and arms had all been bound and placed in a sitting position against the wall.

"Heh, what a wimp. Some security guard you turned out to be," David taunted.

"We got you good," Charlie added.

As they taunted him, Connor became embarrassed and this only amused the robbers more.

"You won't get away with this," Connor said.

"Oh but we already have. But don't you worry, we don't intend on clearing you all out. We will only take what we deem to be necessary," David said.

"What do you mean by that?" Connor asked.

"You'll see," David said as he prepared to open up one of the cases.

Inside was up to around £50,000 and that was just one of the cases.

"How much is one of these?" David asked holding one wad towards Connor.

"Why should I tell you?" Connor asked defiantly.

"You aren't exactly in any kind of position to argue. Now I suggest you co-operate before things get nasty," David warned.

"Each wad contains £1,000. Now will you just take what it is you want and leave," Connor said.

"Oh we intend to. Now time for you to shut up," he said and he used one of the wads to stuff inside Connor's mouth using it as a gag.

"There, don't spend it all at once," David joked.

Connor was now silenced and was quite surprised as to how they used a wad of money to gag him. He could only sit and watch now as the robbers decided how much they should take.

"There is too much here. And this is only one of many cases," Carl said.

"£1,000 in each bunch and there are four of us. Let's just take £10,000. That gives us £2,500 each. That should be enough for us to last a while," Jeff said.

"Good idea and besides, this guy isn't really missing out on much. Plus this is the bank's money anyway," David said as they packed ten wads of cash, each containing £1,000.

They opened the other boxes of cash leaving them unopened but didn't remove any of the cash.

"Okay we are done here, thank you for your co-operation," David said to Connor who could only muffle in response.

"We'll leave all your cash boxes open as well as your van. Who knows, maybe some other people might take advantage of your situation and will help themselves while you sit helplessly," David laughed.

The robbers left and after they did, all Connor could do was struggle and wait until someone helps him. G4S wasn't exactly a company what people liked. The robbers were right, any passer-bys who came to the car park would likely steal some much needed cash and there was nothing he could do about it till he was able to get free and this wouldn't happen for a while yet.

Ah, poor G4S. Don't hold the fact that they're completely useless against them; remember they make money for the man who sleeps with the Prime Minister!
They all say boxer shorts are cool,
but little Speedos always rule.
